Read all the way thru my review, if you're going to read this review. It's $100 for the deposit right for 10+ people that's what they told me on the phone. They confirmed 5:30 on the phone. Still while on the phone I asked what if 1-2 people can't make it will I get my deposit back? They said if 2 or 3 people can't you will still get it back, but if 4-5 people can't make it you lose your deposit because they could have used that table for another party. OKAY THATS REASONABLE! Sooooo today (a week before my party) I go in to pay the deposit and I told them I have a reservation for July 1st and I want to pay the deposit. She said today? I said no..July 1st. So she brings it up. And I give her the $100 in cash that I was told. She said it's 8 more dollars because of tax so I hand her my card. I said I want to verify if 2-3 people don't show up I'll get my deposit back. She said no everyone has to show up to receive it. I said that's not what I was told on the phone. Someone else walked up and said yes 2-3 people and you still get your deposit back. So I said can I get that in writing she said yes. I said okay she was like 5, 7, or 9 pm? I said I made my reservation for 530. She was like no large party is either 5, 7, or 9pm. I said ok..we will do 5pm. And thennnn the other person walked away without writing anything down for me. So The original lady handed me my receipt and I said so can I get that in writing? And she was like I don't know what to write I was like "2-3 max to get deposit back," so she wrote it down. Today was my birthday party. They had the table set with silverware, menus, waters, chips and salsa before we even sat down. Oh my gosh the chips and salsa were phenomenal! For a 14 person table they only had 1 server which was a surprise in the least, but he did a wonderful job! I got the birria chimichanga and a pineapple kiwi margarita absolutly delicious!! I asked if they did anything for birthdays and he gave me and my friend who share the same birthday several options of what we could choose from we both chose the fried ice cream it came with a candle they sang to us we blew out the candle. I thought the general music was different for a mexican restaurant, not the typical mexican vibes besides the decor and a few people agreed when I made the comment. I did get my deposit back but they were going to try and give it back to me in a gift card form. The manager came and gave me my money back and not in a gift card form. All in all a good place to eat and celebrate but some things should be discussed so it doesnt seem so unorganized. I'm excited to go back and try more of there delicious food...
Read moreCame in after the lunch rush hour, about 3pm...on a Saturday. Just 2 ladies dining and we ordered the tableside Guacamole- if you like Guac, you'll love this! Pay the extra $2 to "customize" it... we got our food rather fast after ordering but the waiter seemed bothered. He wanted us to order when he first approached, I hadn't been since they first opened and my girlfriend had never been, so we took our time deciding what to order for our main course. He returned. I allowed her to order, which made him have to come back. At that point, he was over us. Long story less long... we paid, tipped, and stayed seated... asked a random waiter for a menu because we wanted to order another drink. We were told to order from the bar. I approached and our former waiter was now bartending... another guy told me that if we wanted to order a drink, we had to leave the booth and sit at bar or wait to be seen by a new waitress. He sent her to the table then instantly told his manager. The manager is standing at the table with the new waitress asking "what we wanted to do" when I had already told the bartender. We wanted to stay seated in the booth and drink, not move to the bar rail. The waitress walked away and the manager said ok. We then decided to leave because the tension was tough. The waitress approached us as we got up and said "it's ok, what do you want to drink" but we were no longer comfortable. I am not sure what was communicated between the guys but it turned a great first experience into a questionable one. The food is good! The margaritas are good! But if you're looking to dine for 3 hours and catch up with friends, this probably isn't the place. At least not on a Saturday afternoon. And for those who may be thinking...
Read moreIt’s Friday night in Fort Wayne at Tequila, with a wait time of 30-45 minutes. We were seated in the back corner with a view of employees wrapping silver ware. The restaurant is buzzing with activity and the atmosphere was hip Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa arrive and the salsa is underwhelming compared to other Mexican restaurants in our area. Our server arrives apologizing for not getting to us sooner because he didn’t know we were his. He took the order for our cocktails and warned us the bar was running behind. They were in fact running slow and the cocktails were slow to arrive. The Cucumber Mojitio had good flavor but could not taste the booze. The presentation was a mason jar with a handle and no garnish. For the price it was meh. The house Texas Margarita did have garnish and was alright. Our food order was taken and food arrived within reasonable time. The pictures show the Birria Burrito, Mexican Street Nachos with Sweet Corn, El Pastor Burrito, and Ranchero Burrito. Presentation of the food lacked the wow factor. Only beans OR rice come with the burritos. The Ranchero burrito had a TON of onions. The corn on the nachos was cold and the meat hot which made for an interesting mouth experience. Again the food looked thrown together on the plate and lacked food presentation.
Overall, I would give this place another shot after they get some services under their belts. It just was missing a polished restaurant experience for the prices. Flavor of food was decent but meat in burritos was dry. It...
