Recently had the worst experience here. After a very long day and really craving tacos from here, went to get some! It was packed inside which isn’t unusual. Ordered pastor tacos and my partner ordered the fried pork tacos. Food arrives and the server sets the food down, the pastor tacos do not look at all like they usually do. So I told the server that I had the pastor tacos and not fried pork. She argues with me that what was on front of me was pastor. The pastor tasted exactly like the fried pork so I kept trying to explain that the pastor was not pastor and looked exactly like the fried pork and tasted that way too. I have been here many many times and I always get pastor tacos. The meat did not have that reddish hue that comes from marinating the pork and did not taste at all like pastor usually does there. I explained that I did not want the tacos because they were not pastor. I was asked if I wanted another type of taco, I said no I just wanted the tacos taken off the ticket. Thinking all is said and done, my partner finished his food and we went to pay. They were still charging for all the tacos. So we said that doesn’t sound like the ones I had were taken off as asked. The server behind the register stated that they do not take items off a ticket (which no one mentioned at any other point). So since they refused to remove the cost, we had to insist that they actually make tacos for us to take home since they were going to charge us for them and they had taken back the ones brought to me already. Absolutely horrid customer service. It’s baffling to me how people that work for a restaurant can not tell by look/smell that what they are giving their customers isn’t right. Other individuals in the restaurant made a comment to me that they agreed the pastor was not the same today as normally. I understand everyone makes mistakes but I was treated like I was stupid and couldn’t tell that what I was eating was pastor. I have never been to establish that essentially wanted to steal from us by not removing items from the ticket that were not eaten, or heard anyone else having that issue at any restaurant! We have been loving the food there for a long time but experiences like this are the kinds that make people not want to return...
Read moreThis is as authentic Mexican as you can get. My first impression of the place being the only gringo in the restaurant was a reminder of being in my late teens in Cancun on vacation and walking in a taco shop off the beaten path for a couple tacos & a Corona. The menu is limited to tacos only which come out really hot temps, an onion peel & green hot pepper included on the side & are amazingly delicious. Floor & tables were dirty from a very busy place. Lots of action going on inside & lots of happy eating Mexicans. I love my food spicy & this place didnt disappoint. I am definitely going back for more. By the way, I can eat alot of food & was full after two $3 dollar tacos & a $1.50 can of Pepsi. Service was slower than a normal restaurant but this isn't a typical American place. I suggest you try it out for yourself. I must warn you that it is a small place & it gets very busy at times. Might be wise to order ahead & take it home. This review is based upon my first time walking in the door, sitting down & trying the food. I am sorry for not taking photos. I was overwhelmed with everything going on, the smell of the food & being extremely hungry that once the tacos 🌮 arrived. I tore into them & didn't stop until gone. The hot sauces brought to the table in an open lazy susan of sorts was very...
Read moreIf this is the best Fort Wayne has to offer for tacos, I'll be only eating these type of tacos made at home or when going back to Texas because this ain't it. The tacos have plenty of meat in them but very underwhelming flavor wise. And why is pollo/chicken not an option? They only have beef and pork. They don't have flour tacos either. The corn tortillas are too thick. The onions could've been cooked longer to be considered cooked/grilled onions. The best thing here are the salsas and the cut up veggies (cucumbers & radishes). All the hype about this place from ppl who clearly haven't had really good flavorful tacos or they are just accustomed to lackluster food. They need to go to Texas and try the tacos joints inside of gas stations as those are the best spots usually. The girl at the counter was a little rude as well. I'd only go back to pick up salsa to eat...
