Zesto Ice Cream — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

The pure nostalgia of how good this place was is all that saves it from a 1 star. I’m really disappointed in this locations performance this summer and even sadder to say I don’t plan on coming back before they close.

First off- I don’t know if it’s just the change of staff or a change in procedure, but this is definitely not the Zestos I grew up on. The portions for sundae building, and cones has dropped, I don’t feel like I’m getting my moneys worth anymore.

Second thing- The ice cream is soft serve and I get it melts fast but it should NEVER be in a puddle from the window! This entire summer the ice cream has been liquidity and messy, I don’t live that far at all, within walking distance and my ice cream is a puddle by the time I leave the parking lot? Unacceptable. If cheap store ice cream presents better quality, you’ve got a problem.

Third- This might be the crowds, or how crowded it gets inside, but the staff are really fast and it’s irritating. They tend to rush you through at the expense of your experience, give you a half melted cone, and move you on through the line.

Fourth and Finale thing- The.Orders.Are.Wrong! Fourth time we’ve gone and the order has been wrong, maybe it’s the lines or the amount of staff moving around each other? But it makes no...

I would honestly give zero stars if it was possible. This place was HORRIBLE. the staff was not polite, they got literally everything wrong and over charged me. I will never go here again. Dairy Queen gives pup cups away and here I was charged 1.69 each! They don't have everything on the menu at other locations, so I asked to just make it as a sundae because that's basically all it was and she said okay but made it wrong and charged me extra for toppings 🤦‍♀️ we ordered 8 things in total (4 pup cups) and literally all of it was wrong or made terribly (the malt was not mixed well so all the syrup was at the bottom. Same thing with my hot fudge being all at the bottom.)

They also handed out everyone's things in mixed order which made it very confusing and also led to everyone's ice cream being melted before we got our full order. They made sundaes first then shake/malts, so your ice cream was melting while you waited for others ice cream to be finished to take with you...

We love zesto ice cream but not the old lady who seems to maybe be the manager/ owner? She is VERY RUDE. To the customers. Also to the employees. Last year she was rude to us. We couldn't read the sign in the back and I asked what malt flavors they had. The old Grouch yelled in the back " Read the sign" RUDE!!! If the print wasn't so small maybe I could read it. THEN Last night My husband stoped and got us 2 quarts of the twist (vanilla & chocolate) the young lady at the window says "I'm sorry the machine is not working, but I can do the chocolate and vanilla in layers." The old grouch rudely yelled at the poor girl saying " I told you it's working" that had to be such an embarrassment for the young girl. Not sure if I will spend my money here any more. Cold stone in Jefferson Point is just as good.... Maybe even better. Especially since the managers are nice to employees and don't embarrass them in front...
