I’ve been going to Bella for over 25 years. I don’t live in Ft Worth anymore, but we still go to Bella at least once a month. I always get the same thing. The spinach salad is the best salad I’ve ever eaten. I try to duplicate it at home, impossible. I get the buffalo tenderloin, medium rare. It’s small but perfect in every way. The gravy is heaven. Lately I’ve been substituting fettuccine Alfredo for veggies. My husband likes the vegetables. I like the bread. It’s possible that it isn’t homemade, I don’t care. We always have drinks, wine and desserts we get coffee. It’s a restaurant that is perfect for an evening out. It is not fast food, we have closed down the restaurant more than once, and have never felt rushed. It’s an old ft worth gem. The people in surrounding neighborhoods frequent Bella. It’s a great place to take business clients and old friends. You can’t get in if you throw on some cutoff jeans and a t shirt. If you’re in your golf attire your okay. It’s logical because if your dining with business associates you want a certain atmosphere. Lots of people are there celebrating anniversaries, birthdays etc. it has a certain country club feel. Wear your jewelry, your new shoes, dress up. It’s fun. If you like a good stiff drink, this is your place. It’s NOT Olive Garden, doesn’t even pretend to be. It seems we Americans love to overeat. This restaurant serves portions like you get in Italy or 🇦🇷. Places where obesity is unknown. The service is professional, not familiar. The “flexible “ hours are not a slight, make a reservation and be on time. Chef collects food fresh daily from his garden and suppliers, you won’t get a two week old steak, but if they have been busy that evening, you might be turned away without a reservation. I’ve never gotten out of Bella for less than $100.00, even...
Read moreIt was a Friday evening and we decided to grab dinner here since we have been wanting to try it. I was in nice jeans, a shirt and sweater, my husband was in nice jeans a collared shirt with a hoodie on top, and our cousin was wearing the same as my husband. It was not very crowded at all. Once we walked into the restaurant, the hostess had her back to us and turned around. She said "Do you have reservations"? I said "oh no, sorry, did we need them?" The snotty hostess looked at my husband up and down while she said "Yes and you don't meet the dress code". While saying this she completely turned her nose up at us and I just couldn't believe that we were being victims of discrimination based on the way we were dressed. There were no signs stating they had a dress code. I have never experienced this type of profiling before. I mean a dress code? Have you seen the outside of your restaurant? It looks like a dump. We all could have walked right into Ruth's Chris dressed like we were and no one would have turned their nose up at us like you did. Lastly, in the shape our economy is in today, should you really be turning people away when they are willing to spend money at your establishment. I can promise you that my husband alone can buy that restaurant from you if he wanted to. Don't judge people by the way they are dressed. I guess you lost three customers tonight who were interested in supporting your local business. We will not even attempt to go back when we are properly dressed and have reservations. Good luck with...
Read moreOrdered the lasagna which was very good. Portion size very small for the price of 18.95. Portion size was like that of an appetizer, very disappointed. Was given a stripped down menu with pricing not reflective on their online menu. I paid at least (6)dollars more for my meal than I should have. I was the only customer eating in the dining room with a few in the bar area. I’m assuming they can’t make money during lunch, so they feel obligated to charge more than the online menu price. I saw the head chef walking around the whole time I was there, I assume he was bored. I’m not usually one to write reviews, but wanted others to be aware of how ridiculous my...
