World Market — Local services in Fort Worth

update- nobody ever replied to my review and upon a return visit the issue was not resolved one month later!!. I absolutely love this store and it is a must stop shop for stocking stuffers and unique items for the holidays. I must say that this particular store really, really needs to make some investments in the restroom area. Running a few errands during my workday, I decided to pop in for some wrapping supplies and stocking stuffers. Making a stop into the ladies room, there were four empty toilet paper rolls! I mediately opened the door to the hallway where there was a gentleman associate. I asked him for a roll of toilet tissue. He obliged then proceeded to walk past me into the ladies room where I was already standing -to place additional rolls of toilet paper onto the baby changing station and told me that is where they are kept. I felt this was a bit forward of him since I was already in the ladies room he did not need to walk in, he could have given me one roll and waited until I left to come in and add more. The garbage was full and the soap dispenser has become unattached from the wall. I am certain your corporation has a maintenance department or maybe someone there could run to the Home Depot and buy some supplies to allow your facilities to reflect your commitment to your customers, this experience left me feeling much different about your store than I have in the past. My boyfriend and I were in the checkout line when a darker skinned man walked into the store. The man was walking fast, seemed to be in a hurry. Immediately the cashier (Lisa) had the cashier next to her call another employee (male) to follow this man around in the store. I had direct line of sight with this man and male employee. The man picked up one item and came to the checkout line. The male employee came to the front and seemed to be confused about why he needed to follow the man. My boyfriend and I were making two separate transactions with the same cashier so while he was making his transaction I was able to watch this whole thing unfold. By the time we were finished, we were walking out of the store at the same time that this man was leaving. I asked the guy outside of the store if he had ever had any issues because the employee was told to follow him. The guy seemed surprised but still in a hurry. He said no he never had any trouble in the store so if they think he’s a bad guy then they’ve got their own problems. True.

Additionally, the cashier needs better customer service skills. I thought an item that I picked up rang up incorrectly. She told me they were on sale but then when I asked what was the price that they rang up for she didn’t know and acted inconvenienced when I asked her to void one of the two that I had. I found it funny that she could call another employee to follow a man around in the store but couldn’t call an employee to...

I have been a huge fan and world market patron for decades. It's maybe for that reason I am taking the time to write a review because it's something I never do. So 3 things to know:

1. the designers that made World Market unique and so interesting have disappeared. I'm uploading pictures of items I bought several years ago. Everything in the store and online now is anything but unique or inspired.
2. If you do purchase something (on a debit card) the money is deducted from your checking account instantly. If the item doesn't work and you return it 2 hours later, it takes 3 days (at least) to see the refund in your account. I can't imagine how it is if you used a credit card.
3. I have been waiting 5 weeks for an online order. It was lost, then had to be re-ordered and now the delivery company has no idea where the re-order is. World Market customer service has been for the most part, blowing me off, or putting it on the freight service. Fair enough these days, but World Market tells me that they cannot speak directly with their freight service and that I need to contact them directly. I plan to cancel the re-order tomorrow (and I expect that not to be resolved and credited for weeks) because I am just tired of it, and with no living room rug for Thanksgiving.
