After nearly of year of being on my brunch list and all the raving about this place, made it in 11/10/24 with my husband. I can’t even express how excited I was.
We knew there would be a wait and totally okay with it. Additionally it was beautiful outside so we sat on the benches out front and waited. We waited almost 45 mins. We snagged a menu when we put our name on the list at check in so we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted.
Brought to our seat and was still just thrilled. It was cute. Busy. beautifully decorated.
Our waiter quickly came over. Took our drink order and said, ready to order too? We weren’t prepared to feel so rushed. Um, yes, I guess. After he saw my face, he replied, I’ll get the drinks and be back to get the order. Moments later he returned with waters, took our order and I also specified a side waffle order that we were going to share. He promptly came back with my mimosa and the waffle. We weren’t prepared for that and a bit thrown off, but okay. He set it in the middle of table and walked off. We weren’t hoping for an extra place since I specified we were sharing but no. I sat and watched my husband eat half the waffle while my half got soggy in the butter. Tried flagging him down to no avail.
Even though we wanted the waffle with our meal, we thought it was delicious. Perfectly sweet and warm. Mimosa was strong and tasted great.
One glass of water had tons of black and red things floating at the bottom. Flagging the server down for another cup was work but we got it.
I sat in disappointment and really hoped the food was good. My husband already was giving me the eye and made the statement- hey, this was on your list. We both knew, this was not worth the hype or the wait.
Food came and it was hot, looked good.
Chicken fried steak was okay, lots of fat/gristle type pieces throughout and was annoyed watching my husband pick them out as he ate. Mashed potatoes with his meal was so over the top garlicky - he couldn’t eat them.
I ordered green chili pork hash. It was good, nothing spectacular. The pork had good flavor and the eggs were cooked well.
All in all - alright. Won’t be back. Disappointed. Service could have been better. Experience...
Read moreBeautiful building and patio, and ideal for a relaxing evening. Unfortunately the only thing that ruined it was the poor service. After a very long wait for our food, actually 30 minutes in between the first meal and last meal at our table, one of our friends had a steak that was cooked incorrectly. Now, after sending the steak back, the waiter proceeded to come to our table and tell our friend that he was wrong and that his steak, (which was indeed medium-well to well done) was actually the best medium-rare the cook had ever seen, and that (my friend) the customer, was wrong; as he placed his steak back in front of him.
Cut to part two, the manager then comes out and asks about the steak, and says how their standard for a medium-rare is a light pink throughout the center, which wasn't even the case with the this steak, and then after telling our friend AGAIN that he was wrong and that his establishment was right, he makes a final offer to bring the steak back and get him if he "really wants him to", now mind you, this is 30 minutes after the first person has been eating and his steak is over half way done.
Part three, another friend asks a different waiter for a refill on her iced tea, since we hadn't seen our waiter in about 15 minutes. The waiter says he can't do it because he has other people to attend to, and that if she wants she can "go inside and get one herself". All of us looked at each other with SHOCK!
So overall, really really disappointed. Knowing that our table spent well over $200, and then for them to embarrass my friends as they did, it was an extreme disappointment in a place that I had high hopes for. Just a sad reminder that, amazing atmosphere and decor will NEVER replace excellent service. And even if you think the customer is wrong, you bend over backwards to help them and make them feel valued, because if you don't, you will lose not only the business of the eight people we had there that night, but you will lose all of there...
Read moreMy recent dining experience at Brewed this past Sunday was less than satisfactory, unfortunately marking my first and likely final visit.
My server seemed disengaged and inattentive from the start. Despite my attempt to convey my meal preferences, she seemed to have already moved on, leaving me feeling unheard. Even when I asked about substitutions, her response was dismissive, simply pointing to items on the menu.
The food itself was disappointing, lacking in flavor and seasoning. Even the bread seemed devoid of any taste, leaving much to be desired.
Throughout my meal, I couldn't help but notice some concerning behaviors among the staff. One employee was spotted indulging in bacon from a plate with a coworker, while another was casually munching on tacos at the front counter. Hygiene seemed to be lacking as well, with instances of cross-contamination on display for all patrons to witness. One employee wiped their hands and proceeded to make a coffee without washing them, another wiped their hands on their jeans before serving food to a table, and a third wiped their hands on a visibly dirty and stained towel hanging from their pants before handling food for another customer.
Witnessing such unsanitary practices left me with a sense of unease, making me question what might be happening behind the scenes.
Eager to conclude my visit, I attempted to retrieve my check promptly. However, my server was preoccupied socializing with colleagues near the entrance, further delaying...
