Nice little skatepark in downtown Fort Worth. The pump track is the primary feature of note, designed perfectly for skateboard or roller skate/quad use with plenty of exits and rest spots, as well as grinding zones to slow yourself, if necessary. This makes up approximately 1/3 of the park and is closest to the limited parking spaces. This could have been better allocated by wrapping around the rest of the park. It's odd placement feels like a waste of space. The rest of the park looks better in pictures and videos than in real life. There is too much flat between the transition and the banks, and there were lots of complaints about the banks being steeper than ideal. There's a whole other section (another approximate one third) of the park I could even go see because there was a huge gaggle of smoking rollerbladers/inline skaters taking up every inch of the area, although it looked to have the same issue of too much flat ground between ramps. In the end, every skatepark should have a pumptrack like this park and as for the rest, there are plenty of other DFW parks that do the rest better. John Hill, pro skater of ReVive Skateboards and Social Media Influencer lives close-by so with this being his local, it gives you a good chance of meeting him and...
Β Β Β Read moreI recently attended the grand opening event at Dickies Skateboard Park and it was an absolute blast! The atmosphere was lively and upbeat, with so many friendly people and a great sense of community spirit. There were plenty of food vendors on hand, offering delicious eats and treats, and the music that was played really helped to set the mood for a fun-filled day. I was also impressed by the park itself, which had a great variety of ramps, rails, and other obstacles that were perfect for skaters of all skill levels.
Overall, I had a fantastic time at the grand opening event for Dickies Skateboard Park and I can't wait to go back again soon. Highly recommended for anyone who loves skateboarding or just wants to check out a...
Β Β Β Read moreI am not so sure on the transition between the wedges and the concrete slab. The surface is so slippery any type of moister is sketchy!! Not good!! The wedges hender on run up! I've been going to parks for a long time and some of the trashiest parks don't even have this kind of transition. Otherwise the plaza is great!! However the skate community and everyone else makes comment about this issue!! Come make it right!! You'll see more traffic through there. Not to mention, it isn't...
