So let me just start off by saying that this is the first time we have ever been here. It has taken us some years to get over here, but then again we also have a 9-year-old with a rather limited palate. So, went for my wife's birthday today to celebrate an early lunch brunch at 11:00 a.m. I would say probably only seven or eight occupied tables when we got there. Throughout the whole experience, which I will tell you the food and service were both fantastic, the one theme was having to yell and cup your ears to be able to hear the people you were dining with at your own table. Warehouse vibe, no sound dampening at all. I can only imagine how loud this place is when there are inebriated college students. But let's get back to the food. You can definitely tell this place focuses on craft beer and cocktails because those lists were pretty awesome. The wine list was made by the Constellation brands rep and was, in a word, frightening. The cinnamon roll was amazing. The arugula and prosciutto white pizza looked amazing (my wife ordered it and didn't share 🤣.. But she confirmed that it was amazing). I had the truffle carbonara with chicken and I can definitely tell you it seemed to be a very correct carbonara recipe and was very tasty. Sometimes the chicken they dice up in these dishes is subpar because they know that the sauce will drown it out. This chicken was fresh, cooked perfectly. Fettuccine Alfredo looked amazing as well and the person who ordered that confirmed that it was just as amazing as it looked. My daughter just had the buttered pasta which she really did not care for. Our server picked up on that when we asked for some focaccia bread (which my daughter loved) and took the pasta off our ticket without us even asking. Nice touch! It is things like that guarantee we will be back to explore the rest of the menu, however I think we will probably wait until temperate weather so that we can dine outside at one of the 10 to 12 tables they have outside. So, food and service I will give five stars, but oh man even at less than half capacity it...
Read moreWe visited during arts goggle so I'm not sure if they were off due to the increased demand or what. We went in to get a table and there was a half hour wait but bar seating was available so we decided to sit at the bar. Shortly after we sat down another couple also sat down in one side of us. A few min later another couple sat down on the other side of us. It took several min for the waitress to come around and when she did we placed our drink and food order. The second couple to come in got their salad before us. But eventually ours came. We had a house salad and the Capra. The house salad was absolutely flavorless. The Capra salad was very good. The drinks were brought after the salads. The prosecco was in a regular wine glass so that was unusual.
A few minutes later, the couple who had say down third got their pizza. It was several more minutes before ours came out. So about the pizza. I like thin crust pizza because I like it a little crispy. Their crust is thin but not crispy. The toppings though were really good. The sauce, cheese, sausage and peppers on the Cane Rosso were all delicious.
After we finished our pizza, drinks and as much of the house salad as I could stand, we waited a few minutes for the waitress to come back around. She finally asked how things were and we asked for the check. Who knows how long it took to get the check. We waited several minutes. Since we sat at the bar we could see how hard the kitchen staff were working. I just don't know what our waitress was doing.
Overall I'd say the pizza was good, one salad was good, the other bland. Service was slow. Prices were ok.
Update: Manager replies yeah, we were busy that day. Not even a sorry we didn't do better. I guess the lack of customer service is from...
