Captain D's — Restaurant in Fort Worth

Update: Two weeks ago I gave two stars based on the quality of our food.

Specifically went again tonight on a Monday night like our previous visit. Same thing, nobody was in line or on inside eating so I was a bit worried.

However tonight’s visit was what we’ve come to expect at this location. Fresh, hot, delicious dinner, along with friendly service.

Was a real pleasure, thank you.

Previous review We’ve eaten at the new Hulen location at least a dozen times since it opened.

My wife always gets the spicy fish and I get the twenty piece shrimp. It’s always hot, fresh, and delicious. Look forward to each visit.

Tonight however was not a great experience. The shrimp and fish had most definitely been reheated via frying. Each item was way overcooked and very tough.

The fries, corn, hush puppies, and green beans were basically the only thing that were fresh and up to par.

I suspect I know why. This location is usually busy when we eat here, Friday or Saturday evenings, consequently everything is fresh.

I was the only car in line tonight and there wasn’t a single customer inside.

I was so disappointed that I forgot to take a photo. (I currently have over 607K Google views, so I understand the power of a photo)

I hesitated to make a negative review because it was a first for us, but there’s no way whoever served these items up could have thought they were acceptable.

Please address this because I look forward to my next visit.

Food control cost are very evident here at this small box location with about 20 seats . No pump for condiments or self serve drinks . The menu is different no combo plates with drink .Most side items are a 2 filler add on . Burleson and Forest hills location are worth the extra drive . Very few staff members speak fluent English here. It’s clean but they have no volume except drive thru . For some reason the butterfly shrimp are half the size of other stores, perhaps it’s a franchise . If your want extra sauce it’s an extra fee so I’m sure it’s a franchise store. All in I have gone to about half dozen of these store and this in stands out as the worst all around except for cleanliness they are real clean but for a reason . No one eats inside here . I’m not sure if they honor the senior special but I don’t think so they are too money hungry here . Verdict keep on driving up Hulen drive plenty of competition...

Food was great but I asked for a sauce that they have in forest hill called "deez sauce"....the drive thru worker got upset said tarter sauce was all they had I called location in forest hill they explain they are franchise & maynot have it...after I got home the female worker also stated to add cheese to broccoli would be $1.99 and cheese cost i declined of course...to add cheese is .59 cents in forest hill....this lady was obviously making a mistake but her Co/workers were nice in the mist of her yelling over the young lady shoulder I started speaking to bc I refuse to to continue with her ....i will definitely be making a complaint with the store supervisor tomorrow she acted as though she was gone jump out the window took several workers to tell her to get away from...
