My wife and I recently went back to Kingyo Sushi & Ramen House for what was probably our fourth or fifth visit, and as usual, it didn’t disappoint. This time, we ordered a rainbow roll, a snow mountain roll, and a crunchy roll, and finished things off with mochi ice cream.
Out of everything we tried, the snow mountain roll was the star of the show. It had an awesome mix of flavors and textures, with a perfect balance of umami, sweetness, and saltiness. The soft rice and the crunch of tempura shrimp made it even better.
The rolls were fresh and packed with flavor, just as we’d hoped. For dessert, we asked for the green tea mochi ice cream but ended up getting the strawberry one instead. It turned out fine since we’ve always wanted to try both. The strawberry was tasty, but I still prefer the green tea—its slight bitterness combined with the creamy sweetness is hard to beat. Both flavors had that chewy mochi layer with the cool, creamy ice cream center that hits the spot.
The atmosphere at Kingyo is pretty unique and reminds me of the Kame House from Dragon Ball, but with darker, more refined tones. We’re pretty sure the building used to be a house with a coastal design, which adds some cool character. The dinnerware is modern and colorful, adding a nice touch. The only thing that could use a tweak is the music—they played acoustic guitar covers of popular songs, which felt a bit slow. A more upbeat playlist would really match the vibe better.
The service here is always solid. The staff is friendly and polite, which makes the experience even better. The portions and prices are in line with other sushi spots in Fort Worth, maybe even a little cheaper. One small suggestion: a soda fountain would be nice instead of canned drinks. I’m all for unlimited refills, and I know I’m not the only one.
All in all, Kingyo Sushi & Ramen House is still one of our favorite places for sushi. The unique vibe, great food, and friendly service keep us...
Read morePoor service, no accountability, no solution when they messed up the order. Spent over $115 for take out just to get home and have items missing and who knows what instead. Before leaving and even asking “ you sure everything is correct because the bags seem off. They assured everything was packed correctly. Then get home to have completely wrong entrees. Tried calling multiple times just to get a recording and options and then mailbox full over and over. Finally got a hold of someone the next day thru email just to dismiss anything I had to say. Called again and finally got a live person just to say no manager call Monday. And tried to act like the number we were calling was wrong and our fault we don’t know how to use a phone. . So I called the number from another line to let them hear what it said and they act like it was perfectly normal that a recording answers and then goes thru options to hang up on you. Just kept giving excuses over and over. I guess once they get your money who cares what they actually give you and no...
Read moreMy husband and I were looking for a good ramen spot in Fort Worth. We've been on the hunt for over a year and had tried Wabi House and was let down. Then we found this TREASURE!!! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by everyone and they were so friendly and kind. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful to answer our questions. We ordered the Crunch roll, Japanese vegetable roll, Tonkotsu kuro ramen with pork belly, and Tonkotsu ramen. Wasn't much of a wait at all our food all came out pretty fast. I was expecting a bit of a wait (which would have been fine) because they were fairly busy. The sushi was delicious and had great flavor but my favorite was the ramen!!! The broth was so tasty and the pork belly that I added was perfect! We will definitely be coming back again and bringing our daughter, I just know she'll love it! Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for delicious ramen and great service...
