The cafe de olla is the best ever. You can not find it anyplace else that makes it the right way. Other places that say cafe de olla is them making the coffee in a big giant pot and calling it that. That is not the true cafe de olla it is just the regular coffee and that is it. This is the reason I go when ever I can to get my cafe de olla from them. The one thing I dislike about them is that they use cheap cups to put the coffee in and you burn yourself with the cups. They are so thin that the heat comes thru it and you can not hold on to the cup and if you grab it by the lid the lid comes off so easy and you end up spilling it on you and burning yourself. This makes the second time they have changed cups and this has happened to me. I even spilled it in my car trying to put the cup in my cup holder while I was driving the car twice and it spilled on the seat as well. They have the best cafe de olla they need not to he so cheap and continue to buy the correct cups for it so we don't waist a drop of it by spilling it because they are being cheap. They have not come down on the price of the coffee it is still the same price wheather they use the good cups that don't burn you or spill on you or whether they use the cheap cups that do burn you and spill on you. They keep using these same cheap cups they are going to end up getting sued just like that famous fast food place that got sued because the coffee was hot and burned the customer. I'm not sue happy. I just go for their cafe de olla and I will just have to remember to keep a different cup in my car for when I can stop and get me some cafe de olla from them and that way I don't have to worry about getting burned. And I can enjoy the best tasting cafe de olla...
Read moreThis place is authentic as it gets! I was in the Hulen area and was looking for a place to eat. I’m really not a breakfast person so I was happy to hear they serve more than breakfast so early in the morning. First of all when I called the lady who answered the phone sounded extra nice! She recommended the enchiladas de mole. Just in case I order green ones as well. I was there in less than 10 min and she already had my food ready. The place was empty but she still wore her face mask. Not that I cared but I know how some of y’all are with the whole Covid thing. The lady at the restaurant was great! She was proud of her food. That’s when you know it’s gonna be good. Before leaving I peeked at the food and it looked great.
My review on the food: I’m always looking for authentic Mexican food because I’m not a fan of tex mex. This place is legit! I was really surprised because of the neighborhood it’s in. The chicken mole enchiladas had crema and white cheese. I knew this place was authentic by the mole. It taste just like the enchiladas from my home state of Zacatecas. A little spicy and sweet. Warning if you are not into sweet sauces these enchiladas are not for you. I however loved them. You can smell dry peppers. Reminded me of Mexico. Even the green enchiladas were great. You can smell the tomatillos. 😋. EVERYTHING was great. My baby loved the beans and rice and the salsa although it needed a little salt was also good. If you love aguas naturales like I do get them here. I got the mango one and it was definitely from scratch. It had mango pieces in it.
So glad I found this place. Everything from the service to the food was great! I will definitely be a...
Read moreMy fiancé & I tried this place for the first time today. It was so good! We both really liked their chips & salsa. He ordered the pambazo & I got the enchiladas verdes. Both were absolutely delicious! They have some of the BEST horchata I’ve had anywhere and I love that it came in this beautiful clay jarrito. We have to try their breakfast sometime so we will definitely be back!
UPDATE 7/29/23 My fiancé and I went to breakfast this morning at La Casa de Lina! We had been back a couple of times for lunch, but hadn't yet been in to try their breakfast. I had a lovely cup of Café de Olla and I decided on the Huevos a la Mexicana con chorizo. The coffee was beyond delicious and my food was fantastic! I told my fiancé he should try the Chilaquiles Verdes since he'd never had chilaquiles before and he absolutely devoured them! This place is a little hole-in-the-wall off Granbury Rd & Trail Lake here in Fort Worth. They have such great food, it's clean and vibrant, and the staff is great. Our waitress was actually the owner's niece! If you are ever looking for some good, AUTHENTIC Mexican food in Fort Worth, you have to go try this...
