Good. No frills. Pick it up promptly and it will be hot and fresh. If you get delivery, I strongly suggest using their in-house driver. If it is a very busy time, at least they will be able to coordinate for best possible results. Uber at your own risk. Tip.
It is a neighborhood kitchen. You will find items working families here have come to expect on the menu. The execution is fine, they have generous portions, and while they have made small price increases over the years (like ALL businesses,) they are still inexpensive. They will make it spicy if you ask. We love to order orange, sesame, or garlic chicken, beef and broccoli, pork lo mein, steamed dumplings, curry, hot and sour soup, etcetera, and the egg rolls. The egg rolls have a substantial wrap, not the flaky kind. They are extremely consistent. I like that I can always taste plenty of pork and black pepper. I like that they are fried to a freakin CRISP. (The Panda Express mushy chicken slop grosses me out.) And yes, the sweet and sour sauce is worth asking for.
Our family has been customers for 30 years. MingWok is a family business, and theyāve had ups and downs, like every other business. Overall, they have been reliably hot and tasty. COVID was hard on restaurants, including Ming Wok. Tbh, Iām glad they were able to stay afloat. Weāve seen places come and go. MW is a neighborhood institution. If you donāt like the way many Chinese restauranteurs show RESPECTā by getting you what you want ASAP w/o bsā then please go to a drive-thru franchise so they can feed you undercooked, prepackaged slop with a fake smile. If you donāt want to pick it up as fast as they make it, let them know youāre gonna be there later, instead of getting mad about the food you let cool off. If you are unable to discern whether the gal on the phone can say āshrimp fried rice,ā because she has an accentā then you better work on your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUsed to be a big fan of Ming Wok for years but recently ordered their Chop Suey for the first time. When it was delivered it contained no bean sprouts, no bamboo shoots, no water chestnuts and no onion as described in the menu...it was mostly big pieces of broccoli and carrots and little bits of unidentifiable meats in a salty brown sauce. When I called to let them know that I got the wrong dish I was lectured to by both the girl taking the delivery orders and the owner's wife in somewhat irritated tones. They told me that they can put whatever they want in Chop Suey regardless of what the menu describes. I was offered 2 bucks off my next order OR I could come over to their restaurant, bring the offending order and they would remake it for me. Ironically, I read another reviewer who had the same experience but I couldn't believe it. Now I know for myself that Ming Wok feels they can send you whatever they want regardless of the menu description. Won't be ordering...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI waited almost an hour for my initial delivery, which was okay considering it was dinner time when I placed my order but when it arrived, it was missing rice and sweet n sour sauce to complete 1 meal. I called and it took an hour for this to be delivered and by this time my orange chicken was stone cold. Waiting 2 hours for a meal to be completed is unacceptable however the biggest issue is when I called to let them know these items were missing, the girl that answered the phone became very offensive and stated in a rude tone, "I packed that order, I KNOW I packed that rice". While she may have packed that rice, it was not packed in my bag. Staff needs to understand the the customer, regardless if staff thinks they are right or wrong, the customer is still the customer. This customer will never order from #MinklgWok...
