UPDATED REVIEW AND STARS GIVEN
Today's date: 07/02/2024
It's taken a bit to get back on here and update my review. In fact, I have been back to the BBQ joint several times and have tried several things. The ribs that sparked my first review have improved tremendously, still a few tough ones now and then, but over all, the good have our weighed the bad. If you want meat sweats, then definitely get the gun slinger, I could feel my arteries hardening, but that was perfectly ok because the sandwich was amazing.
Not for everyone, but the smoked bologna, absolutely spot on, and near perfect every single time.
This place has really turned my opinion around, and to be honest, I say in a lot of ways is much better than the couple of "high end" joints here in Fort Worth, but just my opinion.
Keep up the good work, Woody Creek!
Stopped in today 05/02/2019 around 1:45 - 2:00 PM, for a half rack of ribs to go. Typical BBQ joint from a visual standpoint. The front counter girl was friendly. When I called in the order to go, I was 11 minutes away from the location, Heather, the young lady who answered the phone was friendly but short( to be expected, and preferred when doing a phone order, until you say good-bye). Asked to look at the ribs prior to paying, and was obliged. Seemed to look a little dry, but initial looks can be deceiving until you bite in. Transaction went well. Drove to work 7 minutes with traffic down the road, opened the ribs, and dug in. WELL...... to say the least, I am not impressed. The ribs are extremely dry and very bland in taste. Thinking it might be me, I offered up a couple of ribs to my co-workers, and the impression was the same. To pay twenty dollars for a HALF rack of ribs and to be less than two hours past lunch rush; this is not the way to make a first impression. I know everyone has a bad day, but maybe either adjust your cooking technique or watch the length of time they stay in the warmer. I'm not saying I won't be back to try again, but it will probably not be...
Read moreI love the food it's great but the night shift here is THE most disrespectful group of people I've ever been around. They where throwing food back a forth to each other and laughing so loud like a good fight in the kitchen. If someone ordered a baked potato one girl would go to the back pull it out and throw it to the cook upfront at the chop table I watched them drop two potatoes and still use them. And before we came called to see if they had carry out on large orders and was told no after getting there we asked again and was told yes they do... Seems like someone don't like the job to much. Guess I will find someone else to cater my wedding sorry you don't want my business.... The girl that seemed to be in charge of everything was to busy flirting with the cook to even answer anyone else at the counter. I waited for 8 minutes for bbq sauce. Another time we came same crew they where clowning around and literally rolling their eyes every time someone came up to ask for something. I don't know about other Woody Creek fans out there but this is not the type stuff I like to deal with in an outing with family. Again I love the food and have used this place many times but I'm not sure all of this is...
Read moreI hate it when you go to a barbecue restaurant and the workers act like it's the best barbecue this side of the Mississippi River.
They charge you an arm and a leg for mediocre potatoe salad, beans, and a tiny bit of meat.
For the price I paid I could have went to a nice steak house or a better barbecue restaurant or saved money and went elsewhere.
I will not be back.
The top portion of the review was done at the beginning of the yr so inflation hadn't hit as hard when writing the review. I respect what yall are doing, and am just being honest, that's why I didn't give 1 star on my previous review. The restaurant was clean and the service was ok. The food was (in my opinion) mediocre. The potatoe salad had huge chunks of unmashed potato and was not that great. The potatoe salad lacked flavor. It looked about as good as it tasted. The beans had an over powering pepper taste and was a touch spicy. I couldn't taste anything other than the pepper. There was so much fat on my brisket I couldn't taste much of the meat. It was either seasoned very little or not at all.
To the owner(s) or whoever responds to the reviews, nothing I wrote was personal. Just my opinion of your...
