I stopped here about once or twice a year. I went there the other day as a treat. I was very disappointed mostly with the cleanliness and quality of the food. I ordered a coffee which came in a mug and as I got to the bottom of the mug I found some baked on remnants of something which definitely did not come from my coffee but did come off when I rubbed it hard with my finger. The lettuce for my burger was dead wilting and not good on the edges. I ordered a salad and it was obvious that the lettuce had not been washed there was dirt on the lettuce. I upgraded my side for the burger to onion rings for $3 and I only got four onion rings. These onion rings were the worst I've ever had. The onion inside was extremely thin and burnt but the dough on the outside of the onion ring was not burnt but extremely crispy hard and crispy. It was not good. I overheard the kitchen staff making fun of my order for the oyster shooters with tequila. They said ew that's gross. The atmosphere is a very nice restaurant but the service was not that great. I ordered two oyster shooters one with tequila but they brought me three oyster shooters no tequila. When I gently pointed out the mistake they took the three back and brought me the correct order. I think they should have just brought a shot of tequila and poured it into one of the three as a thank you/sorry.
It's too bad to see the quality of the food and service come down so far. I remember when going to this place was a satisfying experience. It's an upscale restaurant but either the people don't care or the money is not there anymore or something but I am not...
Read moreI walk in to Double D thinking I’ve traveled back to the 1950s. The paneling on the walls, the color of the drapes, the huge mirror, it all gives you the sense of a bygone era in American history. Along with the ambiance of the room, the setup of the meal follows the same theme. You choose your main entree from the menu. Before you receive your entree, you are provided with: small plate of cubed cheese, salami, pickled peppers a small plate of cheese ravioli with marinara a loaf of bread Soup Salad. This is a lot of food. And while this is all included in the price of the meal, some of it is unnecessary and not very tasty. Some may enjoy it, I certainly did not. The beef soup was too oily and had obviously been sitting for a while. The salad was basic, but decent. The bread is good. The ravioli was mushy and the sauce was bland. But you don’t come here for the appetizers, you come here for the main entree. The first time I came I had the a blackened steelhead salmon. It was perfectly cooked. I couldn’t remember the last time I had something cooked to temperature perfectly at a restaurant. Recently, I ordered the 12 oz. rib-eye steak. Medium Rare. Cooked perfectly. My only gripe on the steak was that it was overly seasoned. I found myself grabbing my water after a few bites. But they know how to cook a piece of meat. So, if you enjoy a good steak done the way you want it, come here. Next time I plan on skipping the ravioli, the cheese plate and soup. I’ll take the salad, the bread and the main with one of the many options for a side. Cause it’s worth it alone for just...
Read moreI have ate there about 4 times and was happy with everything up til now. Being a chef and food critic myself, I am normally hard to please when it comes to a medium rare steak. Some time it good to say something in advance and some time you can make a chef nervous of messing it up. With that said, my friend and I bought 2 medium rare 32oz ribeye. I bill is on average 250 to 300 dollars. Not cheap but worth it for a good steak. It took about 30 minutes for our food to come out, longer than it take to cook a medium rare steak. We didn't really want to say anything because we like the people there and the atmosphere. But we also want what we are paying good money for!! The owner or chef or the person responsible for the mistake came out to our table. He was extremely rude and dismissive then in mid conversation turns around and walks away! 15 to 20 seconds later he come back out with more attitude and a rubber gloves. He said we complain every time we come in then proceeded to grab the meat on our plates in a death grip squeezing trying to get some juice out of it!! He continues to argue with us and trying to convince us that the over cooked steaks were medium rare. We said we will not be eating there again and they only gave us 20% discount on the bill. We didn't touch the steaks !! Only he man handled our food that we had to pay for. This man was in the wrong and didn't care for his customers.be careful this can easily be you if they make...
