I came in with my mother’s engagement ring to be appraised and her wedding band to be reset and resized for myself to wear. Upon entering I could hear a woman on the phone, and from the tone of voice she was using I could already tell she was not happy. After inquiring about appraisals she explained that she was just so busy that she couldn’t help me. She was short, rude, and uninterested in my business. “Is it something you found?” She asked me irritatedly. I was appalled. No it was my dead mother’s priceless possession, and I will not be bringing my paying business back to this store. I understand you are busy and it’s near the holidays. It is not an excuse to be plain rude to someone who might want to spend money in your business. I would have gladly returned at another, more convenient time after the holiday. The woman I encountered needs additional employees to handle customer service or some sensitivity training for herself.
