I ordered two classic chicken burritos in the drive thru. I said that & the man at the drive thru corrected me, telling me they had more than one. When he said the classic. I told him that that was what I said. He said at the box one, I corrected him & said I was the two burrito deal & a drink. When I got to the window, I was handed a bag either one burrito. I told the man, I corrected you at the box twice. He said I apologize for the mix up, but I wasn't the one who took your order. I'll get you a second burrito free of charge. I thanked him & apologized for the confusion. Well, the man who did take my order overheard the exchange & said I had to pay the difference. He came to the window & took over. He was rude & condescending. I stared at him blankly as I gathered the 1.76 remaining balance from my wallet & he told me if I wanted to continue to be rude to him he would cancel my order & I wouldn't be welcome back there. I told him what was rude was that he wasn't honoring what the other employee said about righting his wrong. He told me if I continued to be rude he would make sure I didn't come back. He gave me my drink & other burrito & I kindly told him to eff off. I couldn't believe he was so incredibly rude. Never again. I'm certain he is some low level manager by the power trip. Definitely shouldn't be. I'll also be doing the survey & be calling tomorrow to talk to a supervisor. You never know what people are going through & he picked the wrong...
Read moreIt's Christmas Eve, and when I asked for a medium soda, the male at the drive thru speaker decided that it was a good idea to argue that they don't have medium soda, only regular soda. It was so stupid to me that instead of trying to make him understand that when customers ask for medium soda, they mean regular because it's the same thing, I dropped the subject and cried out the anger in my car after I left. I would not let a man who reminds me of my ex-husband see me cry. I've been a long-time Del Taco customer, and not once has anyone argued with me over something so stupid anywhere. Not even my ex, and He is pretty high on the stupid scale.
I have 4 years of experience working in food service, 2 of those years as a manager, and over 20 years in customer service. If were his supervisor, he'd definitely hear a piece of my mind and I would suggest that he thinks about changing careers because he obviously is not well versed in what it means to provide good customer service. Whoever is his manager needs to either give him additional training on customer service. You don't argue with customers about petty stuff. That's not good customer service.
I feel like going back there is visiting my ex now, but I decided that from now on, I will just not order soda at this location. I can afford to go without a drink and drink something when I get to my...
Read moreBEST DEL TACO IN THE AREA BY FAR - The others nearby are terrible!
:: PROS :: 1.) Friendly staff - they actually are nice & smile? 2.) Food tastes fresh, not old & heat-lamped to death! 3.) Portions are correct - the others in the area rip you off. 4.) Drive thru is EASY to manage & very quick. 5.) Getting in and out is simple, lots of exits, low traffic flow.
:: CONS :: 1.) Occasionally I get a crunchy edge on my flour tortillas. 2.) They are not 24 hours - This is probably why the staff is nice!
OVERALL :: EASILY the best Del Taco in a 10 mile radius. The 2 others nearby have rude staff, lousy drive-thru logistics & constantly either mess up my order or short change me. Literally this is the ONLY Del Taco in the area that has their act together. The other 24 hour ones have the rudest, most careless staff - we all hate our jobs sometimes, but you don't have to be a baby about it!
BTW :: If your crying about them having the open sign on & doors locked, it's because of the drive-thru being open longer than the indoor counter...people need to learn to read...
