Ikram Grill — Restaurant in Fountain Valley

Ok so let me start off by saying that I can be really picky with this kind of food, this place is so good! Their chicken is so good and tender! I recently got the mixed wrap and it very very good. The beef was a little tough and not the most flavorful, but the chicken definitely made up for it. I also had something I’d can’t remember trying before, it was layers of dough filled with cheese and parsley and it tasted like cheesy potatoes and Mac and cheese came together in a holy union to have a child, 10/10 recommend, I can’t remember the name but maybe if you ask they’ll know lol it was next to where you pay and served by the slice! My friends had their special fries and they were pretty good, it was fries, meat,and sauce, I think if there was onion and some of the other veggies on it, it would really make the fries come together and take it from a 4 to a 5. This place is honestly amazing. The shawarma sandwich is incredible and might be the best I’ve ever had and this is coming from a middle eastern who can be considered a shawarma connoisseur. There’s only one thing that is getting really ridiculous though. They are constantly sold out after about 6pm. I hate to not give this place a 5 star review, but I feel that if you’re constantly running out then maybe order more of the product? Clearly the demand is there but the supply absent. This is the one thing that doesn’t make sense to me. Clearly there’s not enough to get through the day. I get off work and really want to stop by and order one but are out of bread or meat almost every single time it’s ridiculous at this point. I would give this place more stars but quality of beef on 1-5 is a 3, lettuce on 1-5 is a 2 and tomatoes on a 1-5 is 3. A few times I came in the lettuce was brown (not fresh)and tomatoes not so fresh either. Meat quality could be better. I attached images of lettuce and tomatoes. Rice is not bad though. I went back to give this place another try but the bottom line is they use very cheap quality beef that ends up being chewy and very low end chicken as well with lots of fat left on it. They surely don’t buy and use Jidori breast chicken meat and surely don’t buy and use Prime Beef or Wagyu beef for their dishes. Meats used are average if not a little below average then rely on sauces to cover up or make up as Americans love sauces lol.. Then even the sauce is average. I went back and the lettuce used is still brown 😳🙈🤦‍♂️ Lettuce and Romaine lettuce are not that expensive these days. 3 stars...
