4/25: It is good to come back and find a restaurant that is still open and at least as good as before. IMO well worth the short detour off the interstate if you are looking for Chinese food. If you are headed west you won't find any other Chinese restaurant between here and Albuquerque. 10/2022: seems to have gone downhill a little since I are there a few years ago. But still clean and food tastes good with authentic Chinese spices. Kung Bao Chicken: very generous portion contains (my guess) a chicken breast and approximately 75% squash and carrots Garlic Shrimp: mild seasoning not loaded with squash. Both dishes quite tasty. This place is a short drive from either of the two easternmost Tucumcari exits on I-40 and well worth the drive if you are looking for Chinese. Sorry to see downtown Tucumcari getting run down, it is a nice little route 66 town, dying because the new motels and restaurants are out by...
Read moreFried rice must have been yesterday or earlier. Not warm, rice was hard. Wonton soup was overly salty, and two wontons in soup were overcooked and mushy, hot and sour soup was cabbage onion soup absent of veggies hot and savory tastes. Chicken Chow mein was mostly very small chopped pieces with maybe half a chicken nugget of chicken and undercooked veggies in corn starch sauce. Two folks before checked their take out and stuff was missing.. one actually left because they didn't have any more soup left and they need 20+ minutes to cook more egg drop soup. He told them to keep it .
Bottom line don't bother stopping there ! Food is horrible. My wife refused to eat her wonton soup, I finished half a cup of my one cup of hot and sour soup and dumped the no chicken chow mein . And my egg roll was hard on one side and mushy on other. . old or left over maybe .. so wasted $18.00

Read moreFood was okay. Nothing had any spice to it. We ordered the Golden Dragon Dinner with egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, General Tso Chicken and Szechuan Pork. The food was bland even though the menu said it would be spicy. Everything had the same taste. Service was distracted at best. The server had a small child in the restaurant with her and was unable to keep her mind on the customers. We waited 15 minutes for a box and never received a check. Finally had to pay at the counter. We ordered pork Szechuan and received shrimp Szechuan instead. The dish was sent back and came back out with pork in about 2-3 minutes. We suspect the shrimp was removed and pork added. Thank goodness we did not have shellfish allergies 🤧. Overall nothing was great and nothing was terrible, just ok, but not worth trying again. Honestly feels like a waste of $40...
