St James Cocktail Lounge — Restaurant in Fox Crossing

I stopped by on Saturday (Nov 9th, 2019) for a few drinks. The owner (Michelle) makes the best mixed drinks here in the valley. Not only is she the owner, but she also works as the bartender. And as far as bartenders go, she is the most attentive and hard working bartender I've ever met. She hustles non-stop while still making it a point to converse with the various patrons seated throughout the establishment. The atmosphere is also very cozy. The decoration kind of reminds me of an old speak easy establishment with a sort of Victorian Era touch to it. The music was also great. While I was savoring my finely mixed beverages, I had some random conversations with other bar patrons. The conversations were high quality and thought provoking. To me stepping into this place was like temporary entering some sort of alternate reality. I mean that in the best of ways. It has been almost a year now that Michelle had to move her bar from where she had built her business for 8 + years. She works extremely hard and tries to please her customers being professional and congenial. It's a bar where "everyone knows your name", a neighborhood bar. Besides that it is a great place to take your date with relaxing music.

There is a nice private couch area where people can meet comfortably. She has a Martini menu with 75 different Martinis, my favorite being "The Salted Caramel". It is so good! Besides Martinis, she has a full bar with a very nice Wine selection. The Popcorn is freshly popped and addicting!

This is my new favorite place in the Valley to get drinks!! I love that it's a much more cozy and intimate place to get a cocktail and it isn't as loud as some of the places downtown. The ladies behind the bar are super friendly and have plenty of suggestions to help you find a drink you'll really like. Which can be helpful since there are so many amazing cocktail options! I have yet to come during their food service hours, but if their popcorn is anything to go off of it perfect fits the vibe and enhances your drinking experience. I would buy their popcorn by the bag if I could! We will definitely be coming here more frequently so we can try more of the...
