We made a reservation for Valentine’s Day dinner. When we got to the restaurant it was very welcoming and a nice atmosphere.
Our orders were taken but the food seemed to take quite a long time to get to us. Our drinks as well. We started with lobster bisque and French onion soup. The French onion was good but the lobster bisque reminded us of baby food in both taste and texture.
As for entrees, I got the 14oz ribeye while my girlfriend got the marry me chicken. My ribeye was definitely undercooked but that did not bother me too much. The marry me chicken might as well have been called the divorce chicken. Terrible taste to it and the pasta it came on had a terrible sauce to go with it. We did get a side of truffle fries which were quite good.
The biggest issue was our waiter, Jake or I believe that was his name. He wasn’t around enough to make an impression aside from a horrible one. He took our order, brought us our food and brought us our bill. That’s all we saw of him. No checking in to see how the food was or anything like that. We did get two more mock tales, hibiscus mules which were very good. Those took about 10-12 minutes to get back to us. But service was awful.
I knew we should have left when right as we were getting settled in, 2 tables next to us were getting items taken off their bills due to issues. It’s just unfortunate that it was on Valentine’s Day. I do not expect to be back after...
Read moreI was finally able to have dinner at the Wissota Chophouse, located inside the Cobblestone Hotel and was not disappointed. I had read about the various other locations in Wisconsin and was excited that a location was opening in Neenah, and decided to schedule a dinner with some of my coworkers to check it out. The staff was amazing, from the moment we walked though the big green doors. We all arrived at separate times, so we met at the bar and had a couple glasses of wine. The bar staff was very knowledgeable of what wines were on the extensive list and could describe, in detail, the styles. As we were all gathering, I overheard the GM go over the new beers that were on tap, with a group of the servers, and teach them a few bullet points about them, which was very cool to see. After we all had arrived and gotten a glass of wine/cocktail, we were seated and we told, in detail, all the items on the menu. Our waiter was very knowledgeable on all the items on the menu and answered any questions that we had. We all ordered (get the Kansas City Strip, you won't be disappointed) and received our food in the fashion that we ordered it....kudos to the kitchen staff! My table talked, laughed, and ate well, and we were never allowed to have empty glasses of wine or water. Everything from start to finish was wonderful and I highly suggest the Wissota Chophouse for great food and drinks and will be returning...
Read moreMy husband and I are not local to the area and went here with friends and family. Our brother made the reservation and some of us arrived 30 minutes earlier because there was a mixup. The place was pretty empty but we were told by the manager that it was "crowded". They allowed us to sit at our table but told us "it may take a little time". We sat at our table with no menus, no waters and not even the offer of drinks while we waited for the rest of our party for over 30 minutes. We watched 3 small parties walk in after us with no reservations that got immediately sat and serviced. The servers didn't even as much as look in our direction and they most definitely had the time to assist us. When we asked if we could at least order drinks and see the menu while we waited, they made us order at the bar and pay with cash.
We are younger, so we felt that we were being extremely age discriminated the moment we walked in. However, we had a party of 8 ready to eat and drink and tip accordingly. We were not even given the chance to do so. I would never visit this place again. The food was also just sub-par at best. Most of our steaks were not cooked the way we had asked. For the price, it is...
