Where to begin with this snob-a-torium style dive, let's start at the beginning, my wife & I went in for a couple of drinks & possibly a taco or 2....we were at Gillette Stadium for the P!NK concert. They opened earlier than usual, I believe they normally open at 4pm, but opened at 2pm (I believe) because of the show, apparently the staff didn't get that memo, let me explain.....as we approach the restaurant from the back we notice they have an open deck with no one out there, beautiful, we'll see if we can sit there, as we approach the front we see at least 4 "Security" people & I use that term loosely, I believe the back of their shirts said that, not really sure why this place would need such "Security", but anyway, we make our way in, the hostess greets us, I ask if we could sit out on the open deck, she says "Nope, it's full....", I guess their definition of "full" is one person & a "Security" person having a drink.....they take us to the back, music is obnoxiously loud, and at least 5-7 "Security" people inside, WHY ALL THE "SECURITY"?! A woman comes by after about 5 minutes & gives us water and walks away before we could even ask anything....waiter number 2 comes by about 10 minutes and says, "Sorry, we're super-busy, please give me a moment and I'll come back around....", they've only been open 20 minutes.....another 10 minutes goes by & he comes back, we place an order for 2 drinks & some chips & guacamole, 5 minutes after that, someone I've never seen brings out the chips....as we're eating our chips, I see our "waiter" walking around with drinks for everyone but us, 15 minutes later we see the "water-girl" (lots of characters, I know, sorry), and we ask if we could get our drinks we ordered 15 minutes ago, she looks at us with a snippy little attitude & says "We're super-busy...." and walks off....real professional "water-girl"....as we wait, we see our "waiter" still walking around to everyone but us, than out of nowhere and older gentlemen has 2 drinks, walks over to us & asked if we ordered them....I say yes, he puts them down & dissappears! We finish our drinks, sit for another 5-10 minutes, I flag down the guy who brought us our drinks and asked for the check, we never saw our "waiter" or the "water-girl" again, I pay, leave NO TIP whatsoever, because who the hell would it go too...we literally had 4 different people bringing us food & drink! As we make our way out, one of the "Security" boys said something to me & I said to him (pointing back inside), work on your service & we left. Absolute JOKE of a restaurant, staff & pointless "Security" people....I wish I could do NEGATIVE ☆☆☆☆, but I can't, avoid this pathetic excuse of a bar/restaurant...
Read moreMy dining experience at the Scorpion Bar on 4-27-2024 was the complete opposite of what it has been in the past. My friend and I were very excited to dine here, as it has always been an enjoyable experience. On 4-27, we waited in line and added our names to the waitlist. We were not asked if we wanted to eat inside or outside. When we were being seated, our waitress seated us outside. At first we were okay with it, as the weather was chilly, but bearable. However, after about 15 minutes, we realized it was seemingly getting colder and very windy. We had just placed our order, and I decided to ask the waitress, if it wasn’t too packed inside if it was possible to move inside, because we were shivering, and it was to the point that our hands were going numb. One of the managers came out, and in a very rude tone, somehow stated that we would have been ‘wasting the staffs time and money’ if we moved our seats. I thought this was odd, so I asked to speak with another manager. The GM came out and said that ‘this is why when we were asked if we wanted to eat outside or inside we should’ve told them what we preferred.’ I said three times that we weren’t asked at all, and if we were asked I 100% would have said inside. She also stated that we would’ve been wasting the staffs time and money, and proceeded to say ‘well are you looking to eat somewheres else or are you just in a hurry to get to the game,’ since there was a soccer game that same night. I said ‘no, we would just prefer to sit inside, since we’re freezing.’ Long story short, by the end of our meal, my friend’s hands had started turning yellow because of how cold it was, and we decided to stay just because we weren’t sure how long the wait time would be anywheres else if we had left. If changing our table was apart of the restaurant’s policy, that is understandable, but it does come down to tone. We were completely dismissed and not heard, and looked at as if we were trying to start a big problem, when that wasn’t the case. We will not be returning, but I do hope this is addressed for the sake of...
Read moreThis was our first time dining here. This is our full honest review. THE PLACE Very nice place, huge inside. Great location. Tons of nightlife nearby. They also turn into a semi-club after 10pm with a DJ. There is a $10 cover for that. They have a huge dance floor. Very large TVs for watching sports. We inquired about their dress code for when it becomes a club, they said their not too strict, as long as guys are not in like basketball shorts or sweats it's okay. They do allow hats as well.
THE FOOD The food was very good. Just know when they say something is spicy it truley is (which was a good thing for us). We started with an app of chips and salsa and queso. The salsa tasted like it was straight outta a Tostitos jar (very tomato-ey with a smokey flavor). This was a dissapointment and got us a little worried about how our actually entree was gonna taste. The cheese was litterally nacho cheese from a concession stand, like the ones you get with Nacho's at a ball game. It was very very spicy. We love spicy so that's the only thing that kept us eating it. Otherwise, we were not a fan of it. ($8 for chips, salsa, queso)
My husband got the Nacho's with fajita steak for his meal- they were enormous, like piled a foot high on the plate, definitely could have shared. He really liked them and said they tasted so fresh. ($16 w/steak; $12 without)
I got the Hot Barbacoa tacos. They were very good. I felt like maybe there was a little bit of a BBQ pulled pork taste too them, which kinda turned me off, but overall the flavor and everything was on point. I'd order them again for sure. I actually got them on corn tortillas instead of the flour as they normally prepared. They double wrapped them with the corn tortillas so I got 4 tortillas and the 2 tacos were well overstuffed, so I was able to make 4 tacos with all the meat ($14 for two (4) tacos )
OVERALL We would return. We loved the location and the atmospheric. Very open floor plan and lots of decor to look at. The food was good and I'd be interested in trying other menu...
