A relative of mine had tried to send a gift from an online seller that ended up getting lost in shipping. In their haste to send another gift, they selected the below product as an alternative. Like the other reviewers dating back over 2 years, I got the same balled up mess of croissant dough that was never going to pull apart properly despite any long period of thawing- note I thawed these for an hour and a half which is 3x longer than the directions call for. I threw the whole thing away under the premise that if the lack of care and handling resulted in this, the product itself very well could have been compromised and/or mishandled in production thus not safe to eat. I find it dubious that in all instances of this issue in the last few years, C’est Gourmet has continued offload responsibility to the online retailer responding with; "Transit delays or improper shipping could cause product to be compromised or thaw.” For the record, the shipping container arrived sealed and appeared to have an adequate amount of dry ice to keep the product frozen. If C’est Gourmet actually cared about the quality of the product, they would take the step to ensure this never happens in the first place. For reference, this company is owned by Chris Gagnon and Jacques Cohen. They appear to own a similar organization called “Boston Gourmet Chefs." C'est Gourmet distributes their products to Whole Foods, Williams Sonoma, FreshDirect, and Wolferman's Bakery to name a few retailers.

Received as a gift, the croissants arrived in a cooler without a single ice pack. One melted gelatinous mess..Cannot recommended sending this a gift at all, no way to salvage it, plus bag broken with dough oozing out.

Same as previous review. Received croissants as gift. Frozen in a big glob. Needed to thaw all to separate. If they cared about gourmet food they would have frozen individually. Had to repair dough peeling apart and repaired damaged to other croissant. Which were not croissants as they were squares with corners turned over. The small box was in a big box with dry ice that would be used for vaccines I could make the same meals buying bought puff pastry and ham and cheese from deli. No gourmet...

Received croissants as a gift. It came frozen as one massive blob, not individually wrapped. Following the thawing directions didn’t help. The outside thawed but inner ones stayed frozen longer. They fell apart as we separated them and some never came apart. It was an unsightly mess that we would never have shared with guests. Big...
