I just enjoyed what I would say was the best omelette I have ever had. It was a "Dave's Corn Beef Hash Omelette" and as the title suggest it had Corn Beef Hash in it along with American cheese and potatoes. I can't even imagine how many eggs were involved in this heaping plate of goodness. I forgot to tell the server how I liked my eggs done but it came to me as perfect an omelette as humanly possible. I met a friend there and we were seated at the bar. The nicest most attentive staff took care of us. And I can't say "waited" or "served" us, I feel they actually "took care of us". Every detail of the meal was so GOOD. The home fries were just so flavorful and not the least bit greasy like many other places I have been to. The omelette was fluffy and light but huge. Hats off to Dave who must have created the recipe for the so named Corned Beef Hash because it was by far the best I have ever tasted and I've had hash everywhere. This was an amazingly balanced offering. The coffee was excellent and was refilled just at the right time. My friend had the "Wicked Sinful French Toast" and while he usually never finishes his food, he devoured his plate with a big smile on his face. He had never been to J & M Diner before and said he can't wait to return. Lively decor, a nice playlist, this busy destination clearly knows how to take care of it's clientele. Little kids were happy to wait for their chance to eat. Items zipping by me were reminiscent of "Soda Fountain" offerings from decades past but were current versions of those classics. There was a tasty sounding special on the daily board today called a "Balsamic" I hope will be there one of the next hundred times I return. I couldn't finish my delightful meal but from out of the air came a "to go" container for me to save the rest. I noticed I wasn't the only one doing that. When I got home I found my wife in the kitchen working on a snack and I promptly opened the container up. She started eating the omelette. Oh and I forgot, we also had ordered the Sweet Potato Hash. My wife started on that and made her seldom seen "wide eyes" of approval. She said "when can we go there together". Enough said. A successful and very...
Read moreThis hidden Gem is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G this was my second time here and today’s experience exceeded the last time I came with my girlfriends..Although both times were great I just felt the food was top notch today. This time I took my entire family on a Monday (Memorial Day) which was extremely busy. I called to make sure they were open and luckily they were, the host recommended us to get on the waitlist. Upon getting there I’m super glad we did, It was BUSY!!! But with everyone helping one another the turn around time was very quick I must say. We waited about 10-12 min then was quickly seated ( had a large group so that’s why it was a lil longer which we didn’t mind, it didn’t feel like it though because we were enjoying the sun outside) Nonetheless I love the consistency with the servers, very welcoming, helpful. They have this cool concept of wearing pajamas to work which helps set the atmosphere to a laid back, homely vibe … Again b/c of the team work one person took our drink order then the server came and took our food order. We knew what we wanted so ordering was a breeze. Joe or Job (sorry bad with names) was awesome food came out within 8-9 min cooked to perfection!! Wow oh Wow is all I can say from the French toast, to the loaded potatoes , sausage, waffles and bacon cooked well done was SO DIVINE. We were so hungry upon saying grace forgot to take pics but I was able to capture very little of the great dishes we ordered. For all my coffee lovers a must try is the Mocha hot coffee 😋 😋 soooooo good!!! And the kids raved over their hot chocolate deluxe! I love that it’s kid friendly and family affordable. Upon asking the kids their rating they gave this place a 9.5-11 ⭐️ in which I totally agree. This will be our new family breakfast place!!! So come dine in with this family owned diner you DEFINITELY will not be disappointed. ( side bar I drive over 20 miles just to come here so you...
Read moreCertainly I don't like to leave unfavorable reviews anywhere. But today there was a series of service issues that compelled me to do it. Mom is 73, she and I had placed ourselves on the online waitlist. Upon arriving to check in, we were told by the young gentleman at the front counter there was only a couple of reservations before us, and that we'd be called to our table soon. We sat at the bench closer to the counter so I could hear not one but 2 young couples that walked in after us and had no reservations. The first couple was quoted 20-25 minutes, and second one was quoted a half-hour wait. Both couples were called and sat before they called Mom and I to our table. At the table, a young lady came over and explained she was going to take our drink orders and that another member of the staff would come by and take our food orders. It took 12 minutes between the time our coffee was delivered and the time the other waitress came over to take our food order. The food took almost as long, and items were straggled along, the side fruit was missing. By the time we were half way through, it was almost their closing time. Mom had not begun her french toast yet (the item she had set aside as dessert) when they dropped our check, at 2:03 PM. The check included a charge for the fruit so I had to ask it to be removed. The young lady who had fixed the checked came back 15 seconds thereafter and told me to "just sign the check as we're trying to close." Mom and I felt we had been ignored and neglected all along by several different workers, and then rushed at the end, adding insult to injury. Very uncomfortable experience. The only compliment we have is for the good quality and freshness of the food we had. Other than that, a very unpleasant...
