Caesar was good although the dressing lacked some flavors like worchestorshire, mustard, salt, garlic and smashed anchovies, the basic ingredients of a scratch made Ceasars dressing. So maybe it was decent at best. I was told it was housemade dressing but I highly doubt that. If it was the recipe book needs to be taken out and re-read.
Papperdelle Bolognese came out luke warm with a miminal amount of meat sauce and did resemble a school cafeteria lunch. Also it sat so long that when I tried to pull a bite with my fork it was a giant clump ball of pasta.
I asked for more sauce and my waiter was going to bring a side assuming I was going to toss it at my table? Is this a new thing now? Just like self checkouts? For a mid 25 dollar dish there should not be a self service option that is included here.
I then asked that they toss with with more bit more sauce but it did still look and tasted very dry, and now luke warm at best.
I flagged my waiter and asked that it be sent and asked for a new order. When my plate was returned it was nuclear hot, now I know I pissed off the cooks for them to have sent a dish back like this. I managed to take a few bites and started to feel nauseous. I did take a few wiffs of the my dinner and the faint smell of rancid meat hit the front of my nose and fell back on my pallette, It did smell off and there was no doubt about it.
I won't go thru the conversations or lack of on my part after the manager explained that the plate was not up to standards but she took the entire meal off my bill. I also insisted I pay for my salad and left a 25.00 tip for my waiter so any ideas I was trying to get a free meal are pulled out of the equation here.
I would never come back here again and I dont like leaving negative reviews but this was a horrible experience.
Last photo is a simple google pic of what this dish should try and resemble, understandably each fse is different and will vary but why not at least TRY?? This dish lacked tomatoes base, cream and flavor. This pasta and dish should be coated with sauce but not too heavy and the meat should also have the flavors of a properly simmered sauce. This also is a basic pasta dish and pretty simple to put together, really no chance of over cooking like a Frutti di mare so I am not sure how the ball was dropped so badly here.
For a manager that came to my table. You never had a chance as your staff set the bar very low before you walked over.
There is no need to write a response here and just accept that fact that with the mixed reviews here there are many issues at your FSE from food quality, to presentations to service. The front of house of only is as good as the back of house and and both failed miserably..
Maybe the tone when set when your hostess tried to seat me behind a partition next to the rest room with three open tables further away from the urinals and toilets? Yes, very bad move on her part.
Good luck to you in the hospitality industry and I mean that with sincerity.
I will adjust and check for...
Read moreBurton’s literally thrives on the back of Dan the Manager and the wait staff. The kitchen sometimes leaves something to be desired. I frequent here and most experiences are excellent but this is the 2nd time in 3 to 4 months there was some big miscommunications. Went with friends. We had a reservation for 7, we were seated promptly. My 3 friends have food allergies and informed the waitress and ordered accordingly. Casey, our waitress was exceptional. She was quick to greet us, kept our beverages full and as she ordered the food read back every item to make sure of the details. I ordered a to go meal as well and she ordered that accordingly. Then my friends and I sat enjoyed each other’s company for 15/20 min and my meal came out…. Only my meal, I waited for my friends to get their food 20 min later one of my friends received her meal, a gf/dairy free burger and our other friend received her beet tower but no dinner and neither did our other friend have food. So we sat and waited at least 15 more minutes before there gf crispy fish sandwiches came out. The manager came by, Dan, he is exceptional, comped two meals but really we all sat waiting for the girls to be served and truthfully if I had eaten all my food I would’ve wanted to go home shortly after it being late and also expecting a baby. I complained, the meal timings were terrible, not the waitstaff fault but the kitchen’s fault. But only the ladies who waited longest had hot meals my other friend and I had a cold burger and cold risotto.
This was all made right. To Dan's credit after mentioning this he comped all the food, he could’ve Charged me for the to go meal and mine (the only meal that came out timely) he comped all the food. Which he should’ve. I frequent the establishment and have never actually complained except this one time. But this is not my first not so awesome experience here. Dan took care of the problems both times. The waitress was tipped well the food was cold but good. It wasn’t the best food experience but the service and wait staff, Casey and Dan were great. They...
Read moreAte here last night while my fiancée was getting her wedding dress fitted at David's down the street, and was super impressed by the service.
TL;DR version: Wonderful service, solid food. Menu is well-thought-through, and has some nice twists on classics. Bartender made me feel super welcome and took great care of me despite the fact that I thought I was being difficult.
Long version: I thought I was going to be "that guy"- sat at the bar, needed to kill an hour while she got her dress fitted, and wanted to order meals to go, but was waiting until her fitting was almost over (knew she'd be done at 9pm when they were trying to close, so just wanted to grab food to take home). The bartender (I think he said his name was Brian) was super nice, made me feel really welcome, and managed to make me feel well-cared-for but also not pressured at all. I got a glass of wine (Caymus Conundrum- really solid option for glass service) and a salad while I sat, and the salad came out almost immediately, under 5 minutes. It was a well-thought-out wedge salad- slightly elevated from what I'm used to, without being a crazy departure. When I did order entrees, they were also prepared quickly and came out in a bag all ready to go, with salad dressing on the side (their idea, not mine, and much appreciated!). When we did finally get to eat, we were quite happy with both the Maxx burger and California Chicken Sandwich. I'd say it's definitely worth the small uncharge to upgrade to parmesan rosemary fries;...
