Arandas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Frankfort

Today’s first experience with them was so bad. I went here with my friends today and they were so mean to us all, It was clearly like they are trying to get rid of us. I walked inside the restaurant and we were asked to take seat, than the owner came with the menu. I am so picky about food so I took longer time to decide what we are gonna eat; however, they were trying to show some short of disappointment cause we took longer time to decide. I believe customer has rights to decide what the want and they can take enough time needed. We ordered changas (dish) which was good as per previous experience of my friend’s. They normally serve the dish with some lettuce, onions and sauce on side; however, at this time, he did not serve anythi Like this. When I asked for side stuffs so owner replied “I assumed that you won’t like it so I did not serve “ worst response I ever heard. Than one of my female friend found a long girl hair in the food so she called a female representative and did show hair in the food. Her response to that was awful “you are also a girl, it must be your hair, I am the only girl works in here and it’s not my hair” this was a worst response we got. We were about to finish lunch and in between the owner came with bill directly without even asking if we are done with lunch or not. I came to front desk to pay bill and asked if you guys represent a franchise or if they do have any feedback form or something but she was like, you can only speak to me or the owner about anything. I thought that it is useless to share feedback with owner or that girl cause they are so bad at customer service and even if I tell them about experience, they won’t care. Worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to!! The salsa that we got with the chips was flavorless and runny. We got some cheese dip, and that was as runny as water and, again, no flavor. Our meals were very bland also. My wife ordered the seafood burrito, which was advertised as having crab meat. But it was fake crab. Everything in the burrito had no taste to it. We had rice with the meal, but it was not Mexican rice. More like just boiled rice. The black beans that we got were cold. When we asked for replacement beans, the waiter brought my wife some and then asked me if I wanted some replacement beans. I told him no because I was so pissed at him. If I didn't want replacement beans, I wouldn't have said anything to begin with! When my wife tried the beans, they were so hot that she literally burned her tongue on them. My wife is English, so for her to say that the food was tasteless says something! Don't even get me started about the waiter! It's as if he didn't want to be there. Didn't care...

So, wanted to really like this place as I just moved here, but just so so. Cute decor, and nice staff. Great service and huge Modeo beer from the tap. Addition of lime slice was nice. Chips very light and served cold. Salsa was good and a little mild for my taste. I ordered my meal with shredded beef taco, chili rellano, chalupa, beans and rice. Shredded beef was good and no up charge from ground beef. Taco ok, rice light and cooked perfect but lacked seasoning. Beans were good and flavorful. Chalupa, (we called it a tostada in California ), was soggy as plate was microwaved. They did put a large topping of some good guacamole on top, but nothing can save a reheated, soggy corn tortilla. The Chili rellano was unetable. The chile was not cooked at all and the egg coating soggy. Very disappointing. Will I go here again? Maybe for beer and chips, but it's still cooking at my house for good mexican...
