Staxx BBQ — Restaurant in Frankfort

EDITED!!! 7/9/22 and 8/24- AS PROMISED TO DAN the owner.. please read. Went through the drive through at lunch today. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich combo. I asked for, and it was printed on my receipt for 2 sweet sauces. I got back to work, ready to eat what I THOUGHT was going to be a good meal, only to find I had NO SAUCE AT ALL.. No napkins, no plastic ware.. LUNCH IS RUINED!! Who eats plain pulled pork?!! I called and spoke to Kaylie (sp?), who took my number and was to have “Joe “ call me.. SHE immediately called me back and said they don’t give refunds for forgetting sauces!! Excuse me?!! My man has always thought this place was nasty, and I gave them a chance. I should have listened to him when he told me how awful the brisket was. Don’t waste your $$. Poor food and EXTREMELY poor customer service. THIS IS THE EDIT TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. Dan Liebman the owner reached out to me. I emailed him and he sent an EXTREMELY thoughtful and responsible response. He also sent me a $25 gift card and asked to give me them another chance. I didn’t ask for the card, but I appreciate his willingness to have a satisfied customer. I WILL try Staxx again. He exemplified to me that my experience was NOT normal for his restaurant, and he deserves another shot. ADDITIONAL EDIT: I did go back on Dan’s dime, and now Staxx is one of my favorite spots in town!! The lunch special can’t be beat!! They have the best baked beans...

So we were just passing through Frankfurt and thought we would eat somewhere local, this was the first thing we saw that wasn’t a chain,so barbecue always sounds good. I’m from Texas so I have a pretty good standard about barbecue, this is a no-frills place kind of felt like you were going back in time to somewhere that would’ve been built in the 80s and really hasn’t updated it since then… And actually that’s what I like about it, they put their money into their food instead of it to some sort of modern decor, I got the ribs and chicken wings, they were both smoked old-school style… Tasted fantastic and the sweet potato fries were top-notch, hot and crsip to perfection, the ribs meat literally fell off the bone. The prices were also like kind of back in time. They haven’t nearly the prices of BbQ TN Restaurant especially barbecue which has really gone through the roof… Whereas for the sandwich meals it was pretty much the same price as you’re gonna pay for a combo at McDonald’s… this is the kind of place that if I were local, I would eat there all the time. Okay, guys & dolls, I've reached my saturation point with this establishment. Went through the drive-through on 12-13 and order a half rack of ribs. First, however, I asked the person working the drive-through how the ribs were that evening. I was assured they were "fresh." The reason I asked is because on SEVERAL occasions after I have gotten home, the orders have been inedible. Smoked chicken wings that look like they were cooked a week ago, and drier than a $2 steak. I live about 10 miles from this establishment and they are certainly not cheap on their prices. When I got home and opened the container tonight, what did I find? Ribs burnt to a crisp and drier than a popcorn fart. I called to complain and the manager tried to tell me how great those ribs were. Then he got attitude. NEVER AGAIN.
