I struggled figuring out how to rate this restaurant… I have so many reasons to complain and only a few reasons to praise, but it is never my intention to tear a business down, but the consumers really do deserve an honest review.
The establishment: neat and decently well kept in the eating area, but bathrooms were pretty dirty.
The food: where do I start? It’s sub par, at best. Certain things are really good, like the rice… but shredded chicken is flavorless, guacamole is not seasoned, beans taste like they dumped them straight out of a can… just to mention a few. Very mediocre food.
The waitress: this lady was amazing at taking our order and she was super friendly, but when the food was served they had a male child serve it to our table and he was so small that he would speak when delivering the food and the spit from his mouth would spew out right over the meal. Terrible. Not sure what the children are doing working? Furthermore, we didn’t tip the waitress for many reasons (the spit being one) and she actually approached us and said we are rude for not tipping her! Wow… I had to explain all of my concerns. We paid for our mediocre food that we really wanted a full refund for because some of it wasn’t even edible and they expected even MORE money on top of that? It gets better…
The prices/payment: prices are high for the quality of food delivered. The bill appeared to be $98 but when we went to pay it was around $105 charged to the card. After further inspection, it’s only $98 if you pay with cash… otherwise there’s a $7 up charge to use a credit card. Good grief.
Miscellaneous: we asked for a to go drink and they delivered it to our table with a hair intertwined on the lid of the cup.
Unfortunately, first impressions are everything and my word! We just won’t ever recommend or visit this place again. I’m sad because we really wanted to like it, but it was just not a good experience...
Read moreAppears to be a family-owned restaurant, but the main thing missing is the appearance of authenticity. Recommend hiring a few native Mexicans (because it is a Mexican restaurant) to be the face of service (greeter / host and servers). When visiting the restaurant with Latinos, they will likely be turned off by the current staff's inability to understand simple Spanish. Otherwise very friendly and fast service. During my visit, it was jointly agreed by my crew that the horchata was too sweet, the guacamole was too bland (basically just tasted like a smashed avocado), and the food was okay. I personally thought both the steak and combination fajitas were excellent. For dessert, the sopapillas were not sopapillas---soft, warm pastries with honey sauce--instead, these were just large tortilla chips drizzled with chocolate syrup. The atmosphere was lacking... needs more light, more pizzaz... and turn the heater on during these cold winter months. Restaurant has great potential, but needs a face-lift. Once again, very friendly and fast service;...
Read moreThis place is awful.
Food is unflavored and awful. We had to ask for cheese for our quesadillas. Anything beef was soaked it liquids rendered off the meat while cooking. Nothing was seasoned.
Everything was dirty, to the point where I didn't drink my water because mold was growing on the plastic cup. We didn't dare touch the salt and pepper shakers. The margarita was juice and puree, NO tequila and when asked about it the server said "I don't know if he uses tequila".
The bathroom was filthy with a raw sewage smell. There is literally dirt everywhere.
No questions were asked about the amount of uneaten food, the blatant dissatisfaction or untouched drinks.
3 people were over $70, no appetizers , 3 build your own meals...
