Enjoy this place a lot. Although Kingston is an older location, and much more quaint then the Somerville store. The food quality has always been excellent. Take out is a little pricey, but the all you can eat is a really good deal for fresh fish. And the food has always been fresh. At times new wait staff and obviously the pandemic have lent to slight issues in presentation or service, however its more a rare occurrence, and I dont hold that against them. As for Sushi - What's important to me at least, is the food quality. I'm not there for selfies. There because i love the cuisine. They do an excellent job with eel, which is difficult for some to handle. Seaweed salad is excellent, and thoroughly enjoy their signature roles, with maybe half a dozen i rotate through. Owner is fantastic and hospitable and provides excellent dining at a really reasonable price. Additionally the restaurants are BYOB. So you can bring your own saki! The green tea and bean ice cream is an awesome touch to finish off your meal as well; and they have the real deal! Also just a tip, as is common in most sushi places, i have asked and confirmed that the chefs do get the kings cut of the tips and tips are pooled. As the prep is considered an art, and the wait staff generally work together to provide better service. So when tipping i always consider this and make sure everyone is taken care of. Traditionally you can sit at the bar and only tip the chefs if you so prefer. (common practice in many sushi restaurants) Recommend this place. If showing off try Somerville. If just love sushi and want a more laid back setting Kingston is the way to go. Easier to get to, tons of parking and no traffic. Amish market next door is out of this world as well, so convenient for an after lunch walk to pick up some...
Read moreFinally, I am making a review for this location.
My one and only experience here was horrible, in terms of the experience, not the food.
The Food wasn't too bad, appetizers were good, and the sushi wasn't that bad either.
However, this is where it went downhill.
My toddler wasn't feeling well after eating something, so as he threw it up, my wife caught it in her napkin.
Our server, who never greeted us, never smiled, never checked up on us, never told us to enjoy our meals, nothing that resembled service, all of a sudden comes to our table, points at the napkin, and accuses us of hiding sushi rice, by making a scene, saying "You can't throw rice away, there is a penalty"
After worrying about our toddler, that soon turned to anger as we were insulted by the false accusation.
My wife got extremely upset and told her what happened and then blank faced, she responds, "OK, her threw up? Oh ok." And just walks away.
No apology. No asking if my toddler was feeling OK. Just walked away.
We were so upset and didn't want to continue our meal so we asked for the check, but here's the kicker. She said she can't give us the check until we finished all our food.
We were incensed. I asked to speak to the manager and she said there is no manager.
Then she says, "I'm sorry, it's my fault, ok" but the tone she used when saying those words were very ingenuity.
Not wanting to deal with her any longer. I inhaled our giant platter and asked for the check.
She brings the check and then proceeds to ask us "Do you want dessert?"
I legit thought I was in a Hidden Camera show, or an episode of "What Would You Do?"
I don't care if staff has changed, and improved, because although the restaurant was contacted after this incident, I never got a...
Read moreI recently ordered takeout from Sushi Palace in Princeton and got the spicy salmon and spicy yellow roll. I must say, both rolls were incredibly fresh and delicious! The fish was top-quality and the rolls were packed with flavor.
Although I didn't dine in, I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating during the takeout process. The restaurant appeared to be clean and well-maintained, giving me confidence in the quality of the food.
The spicy salmon roll was one of the best I've ever had. The salmon was fresh and melt-in-your-mouth tender, with just the right amount of spice to give it a kick without overwhelming the flavor. The spicy yellow roll was equally impressive, with a great balance of flavors and textures.
Overall, I would highly recommend Sushi Palace in Princeton to anyone looking for excellent sushi, whether dining in or getting takeout. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous. If you're in the area and looking for a delicious sushi experience, Sushi Palace is definitely worth a visit.
I would rate my experience at Sushi Palace as 4.5 to 5 stars. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the overall experience was fantastic. I look forward to ordering from Sushi Palace again...
