Never coming back there again. The "BOY" behind the meat counter was very disrespectful. I asked a lady to excuse me because I was trying to see the Beef Short Ribs I was going to purchase, she act like she didn't want to move, I asked her again and she didn't move. The "BOY" behind the counter stated in a disrespectful tone, just tell me what you want she don't have to move, I said excuse me still trying to see the meat I wanted to purchase. The "BOY" said in a hasty voice look do you are don't you want the meat, I looked at him and said not in that tone of voice, I no your not yelling at me. He said look how much you want. I was trying to ask him did he have another piece he can cut off, he said no this is it. So I said I'm gonna need more because I want it cut across and that piece doesn't look like it's going to be enough. He said this is it in a nasty tone what do you want. I said never mind, I get someone else to wait on me, because I don't like your nasty attitude, he said good, next number. I saw the other young girl and I asked her who was his boss, because I need to speak to them, she stated hes not in and what did I want him for. She looked over at him as he was smirking and laughing. She said what for, what did he say. I begin to tell her as he continued to laugh, she automatically said before I could even finish telling her, stated, he didn't say that, I said yes he did, and tried to finish telling her, she just walked away, he laughed and then turned and laughed with the other boy saying something I didn't hear. This is unacceptable and for that reason I will not be coming back spending my money to be disrespected in any form. It comes to show how they weren't trained at all and nothing will be done about it. This $300 plus will not be spent ever at this place and I will inform all of my family and friends I've sent there not to purchase anything ever again. Good Riddens...
Read moreI've been visiting here about once per week since moving nearby at the beginning of August 2022. People are all very friendly though I know it's multiple Amish families running each individual counter. I was & still am concerned for how young many of the female workers were.
On the plus side this place is pretty amazing otherwise. Multiple butcher counters, a section for various cheeses, crackers, popcorn, fresh eggs, dairy etc. Another counter with desserts galore. Pies, cakes, breads & so on. Another counter for Amish made chocolates, fudge, candies & more. There is a hot food bar that offers some really awesome comfort food & meals to prepare later at home.
The mini meat loafs, swedish meatballs, kielbasa, mashed potatoes & green bean casserole are my favorites but there are plenty of other choices like mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, corn, chicken fingers, etc.
There us a fresh fruit stand, another stand offering jars of canned & bottled fruits, veggies, spreads, sauces, pickles & so on.
Yet another counter allows you to create your own smoothies as well as fresh already sliced fruit, vegetables & juices.
Lastly there is a counter that offers some staples of comfort food like bagel dogs, various pretzels & drinks including specialty coffee creations.
Cash is the recommended way to pay here but you can pay eith a credit card but be aware most of the stands charge at least a $1 dollar fee or a minimum requirement to purchase to pay via credit cards.
Remember to bring your own bags as New Jersey has outlawed plastic & paper bags in most instances & be...
Read moreIf you're looking for an amazing day trip, the Dutch Farmers Market is definitely worth the hour drive from Bergen County. The market is huge, with plenty of easy parking, and once inside, the variety of options is truly endless. It's run by the Amish, which adds a unique and charming touch to the entire experience.
Everything here is fresh — from the produce to the meats, it's clear that quality is their top priority. One of the highlights of my visit was the cooked food section at the back of the market. I had the fried chicken and ribs, and WOW! The chicken tasted 100% fresh, and the seasoning was by far the best I’ve ever had. The ribs, paired with their BBQ sauce, were absolutely spectacular.
And then there are the sweets. I can’t even begin to describe how amazing the donuts were. They were so delicious that I found myself sneaking to the kitchen at 2 AM for a midnight snack. If that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what does!
I also wanted to try one of their famous pretzels, but the line was wrapped around the store. Rumor has it they’re the best pretzels around, so I’ll definitely be back to try one on my next visit.
I can’t wait to return to this gem of a market! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for fresh food, delicious treats, and a...
