Captain D's — Restaurant in Franklin

Captain D's has been round for a long time but only here in Franklin for a few years. Every order I have received from here has been hot, fresh, and good. Mostly all menu items are deepfried. If your looking for non fried items they do have a selection of grilled options. They have a better choice of side items than most places in the fastfood world. I enjoy their coleslaw which is southern style lots of mayo, fresh and crunchy. There grilled selection is good my wife enjoys the grilled salmon and griled shrimp. The price for a meal is right on point for my family. They even offer larger family meals that can feed my hungry mob. The employee's go out of there way to make your experence one of the best in Franklin, NC. Their menu offers monthly new selections. My wife again love the gumbo and lobster rolls when they are offered. They do have some desert options but I have not tried any of them as I am just to full after eating here. I can't reccomend Captain D's enough but get lots of napkins as some of the fried items can be a little greasy. I'm not sure if they have an app but I have ordered ahead on...

I came to Captain D's here in Franklin North Carolina after exiting Winding Stair Gap from the Appalachian Trail. This was my next town to resupply. After being on the trail for over 2 weeks this was the spot that I knew I needed to stop. I stopped outside on the curb and I looked at their reviews online. After seeing it was a 4.2 star rating I went inside and took my chance. I can say this is the best Captain D's that I've ever been to. The store on the outside is immaculate but not in the best spot off the highway. The bathrooms were very clean, the service was outstanding at the counter, and the food is absolutely spectacular. Any day of the week I would love to come here and eat. The dining room is very clean, from what I could see the kitchen and the people are very clean, the food was amazing and the overall staff are very knowledgeable. Very disappointed it seems every time I come here they get something wrong and your missing items and have to turn around and go back to get it corrected. We ordered a large potato soup. Got home and it was seriously just half full. So it may has well been a small in a Lg cup! Very disappointing you you pay for more and get less. Also we ordered the 2pc dish meal and was asked if we wanted to upgrade and get and extra fish so we did. It was $3.99 extra. And that extra fish was missing. So had to go back in. It's just frustrating going here. We won't be back. We have given the benefit of the doubt and tried many times and they just can't get things together.
