I ate here yesterday afternoon with a large group of friends (14). It was fabulous, and so nice to eat at a local, family owned restaurant here in Cool Springs which is mostly limited to chain restaurants.
I called ahead of time to make sure they could accommodate us and spoke to Luke and he said he’d set aside seating for us. Luke ended up being our server, and he was very sweet and gracious to our rowdy table!
We all mostly ordered different pizzas, although a few got pasta dishes, and I added wings to my pizza order. Most drank beer, a couple ordered wine.
The pizzas were all very good! I got the Italian Stallion as my husband loves green olives and it had that as an ingredient along with Italian sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, salami and mushrooms. It was wonderful, the toppings were plentiful and the crust was perfect. Others ordered different specialty pizzas and had no complaints. I also got the traditional wings with a mild buffalo sauce and they were quite yummy. My son got the spaghetti & meatballs and it was a huge plate with 2 giant meatballs! He could only eat half of it so he had leftovers for another meal at home. Another person got the Mozzarella Caprese Salad, and the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. The pasta dishes came with homemade garlic knots.
The beer selection is rather limited, if you like craft beers like our crowd does. They are mostly standard beers, so that’s the only recommendation I have, that they up their game on the beers and offer more options from local breweries. They were out of some of the limited ones they carry, but Luke explained they restock beers on Monday (we went on a Sunday so they were at the end of their supply by then).
As far as the vibe, it was a perfect low key place to hang out with friends, drink beer and eat pizza etc, and watch football. There were plenty of TVs to watch the games. There were even fun video game machines if you’re into that.
We really enjoyed Mineo’s - food, service, and vibe were all tops! It does take a little while to get your food but we understood with our big table, and it was nice anyway to not be rushed out the door (we stayed almost 2 1/2 hours!).
So nice to support this local family...
Read moreTop of the line classic-style Italian joint, rarely seen in this region. Superb homemade quality and good portions. Not cheap by any means, but not overpriced. You won't be finding any entrees under $15 (unless you're crazy enough to go out just to order plain pasta), but it is all well worth the quality and reflective of the ingredients and preparation. They close very early, especially for a pizza place, so it can be tough to get an opportunity to go, but the overwhelming quality makes it well worth it on the occasion.
I had never seen this place on the map despite living here for over a decade. It seems google had de-prioritized its listing until just recently. A real shame, but as expected for google to push sponsored chains over locals. If you have not been here before, I cannot recommend it enough.
The wings are excellent, first wings I've ever encountered where "garlic parmesan" genuinely means fresh garlic and parmesan, not some flavored rub or sauce.
The meatballs are homemade and wonderful, as is the sauce – hearty and not overly acidic. If you order a pasta, the portioning is perfect, no pile of plain noodles with a quarter meatball and spoonful of sauce here.
The greek salad is amazing and my top recommendation for any meal. The Small and Large sizes easily serve 2 and 4 people respectively.
Parmesan and pepper are not on tables, an unfortunate sign of the times. But you can ask for them.
Service is attentive and polite, though they will nudge you to move along if you show up late, as many seem to do, expecting typical pizza hours. In summer it's closing up before the sun's even down, so you'll have to watch the clock.
Only complaint, and reason for the 4 star food mark though I still give 5 stars overall, is that the drinking water is unfiltered (or otherwise needed a filter change). You will likely be spitting it out.
However, the food itself is superb and overall it is an excellent place to dine that I can't recommend enough. I will surely be returning to...
Read moreWORST EVER, poor quality, bad service, not worth eating at any price. I wasn't even paying with my own money -- it's a business expense -- but it was a complete WASTE of money. Digiorno is much better than this place. I've had better pizza at bowling alleys where they simply microwave cheap frozen pizza. This must be prepared by people who hate pizza. I didn't flinch at paying $24 for their 16 inch Supreme pizza with some extra toppings, but I was disgusted to find it was of lower quality than pizza you buy in college when you've run out of money. The crust literally tasted like CARDBOARD, which unfortunately was more flavorful than the toppings! Seriously. How do you pile that much stuff on a pizza and make it taste like nothing but cardboard? I can't finish without telling you that the crust was poorly prepared, and the pizza was made with LOW-GRADE ingredients. Also, when I called, they placed me on hold for over three minutes, then when I said I wanted it delivered -- because their online menu states "for delivery" -- the guy RUDELY told me "We don't deliver today." I asked what days they do deliver, thinking I'd try them another day. He stated, "We don't deliver anymore." So the first answer made no sense -- why cause me to believe they do deliver on some days? Though they charged almost $6 for the extra toppings I requested, there were not enough toppings on the pizza I received. I won't waste any more of my company's money at this awful excuse for a restaurant. Get yourself one of those pizzas from the gas station that you microwave there then eat in the car, because it'll be a better experience...
