Worth a trip from NYC!. We come from NYC to Jersey Freeze! NYC has good Gelato but not old fashioned ice cream! I am not a newbie to ice cream It is by the Freehold Raceway Mall. And it is on the way home from the Jersey shore.
It serves amazing soft serve ice cream the richest in flavor that you can get anywhere! It serves the best slushies I have ever had!
But where it stands out are the old fashioned malt shakes! The Chocolate malt tastes just like a Whopper!
We first saw Jersey Freeze on the Food Network. Jersey seems to have a special magic for ice cream. Freehold is a great area. 2 great malls the Freehold Raceway mall and the Jersey shore outlets. Great restaurants like El Meson, Rita's Water Ice, and Jersey Freeze. Worth a day trip for sure! (Freehold) As for the meals here we have had hamburgers and things here. I prefer Windmill by far. Go here for the ice cream and especially the shakes and malts. But the malts are the stand outs here! Wow! It has that old Americana that the Jersey shore is famous for. Jersey Freeze has been on the Food networks Unwrapped. Urban Spoon refuses to allow links but you can look it up at the Food Networks web site. There is an unmatched nostalgia

Read moreUpdate: Definitely appreciate the response from the business that takes no responsibility for any shortcomings and only takes a defensive position. Firstly, where you have customers line up, there were no signs listing the flavors until you got inside, as you were being asked what you wanted. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that maybe the signs are removed each day from outside, and they forgot to put them up that particular day, but the position that everyone in our party missed multiple signs outside is absurd. Secondly, you are again wrong and we both had hard ice cream and not ice cream so the serving sizes are widely variable and not appropriately represented in your pricing. This sort of I don’t care attitude in the response was exactly the same response that I got when I questioned the size of the cone at the window.
Ice cream was decent, but location is bizarre. There’s no flavor list outside with a huge crowd so you’re pressured into deciding once you get inside. Staff are uncaring and not pleasant. My wife got a junior cone and I decided I wanted one larger after seeing hers, so I ordered a regular which came out smaller than hers. I was informed “well it’s 2 scoops so that’s a regular.” Shame on you for charging another dollar for cones that are either the same size or even smaller,...
Read moreAverage. Was in town from Florida and wanted to try this place out due to the" 4.5 star review". First of all, the food menu didn't have too many options and pricey for a mom and pop business. $11.99 for chicken tenders meal that doesn't even include a drink. Didn't order anything since it was more like fast food with high prices. Secondly, the ice cream area was a very tight space with like 20 people waiting for their order in such a tight spot! Very unorganized and didn't know who was waiting to order or picking up??!!! I ordered the cookies and cream and it was good but nothing spectacular. The girl at the counter got offended when I requested another spoon after she put the spoon directly on the counter!! I'm not a germophobe or nothing like that but I do work in a hospital and I don't know when was the last time that counter was wiped down and it was 8pm on a Thursday so only God knows how many hands have touched that counter. Did she really think I was going to take a spoon that was just placed on the counter bare with no napkin(NO NAPKINS OFFERED AND THIS IS AN ICE CREAM SHOP!!)under it and put that same spoon in my ice cream and then in my mouth??!! Wish you all had name tags so I can give a name. Customer service was beyond awful. Almost all the workers are in their 20s and just want a paycheck. Get it...
