I recently had the opportunity to visit the Court Jester Restaurant, and overall, my experience was a mixed bag. While the restaurant itself was quite nice and the service provided was excellent, I must admit that I left somewhat disappointed due to the underwhelming food.
Upon entering the Court Jester, I was immediately struck by its charming atmosphere. The decor was tastefully done, and the overall ambiance was inviting and comfortable. It was clear that the restaurant had put effort into creating an enjoyable dining environment.
The service at the Court Jester deserves special recognition. Our waitress was wonderful and friendly throughout our meal and ensured that we had everything we needed. The prompt and efficient service definitely added to the positive aspects of our visit.
Unfortunately, the disappointment came when the food arrived. I ordered a burger, and while it was certainly sizable, it lacked any flavor. The patty itself was bland and failed to deliver that mouthwatering taste I was hoping for. It seemed as though the seasoning was either minimal or nonexistent, which was disappointing considering the expectations I had.
To accompany my burger, I opted for a side of onion rings. Regrettably, they were drenched in grease, which greatly affected their overall quality. The excessive oiliness made them heavy and unappetizing, taking away from what could have been a tasty addition to the meal. It was clear that more attention should have been paid to the cooking process to ensure a more enjoyable onion ring.
Despite the food falling short of expectations, the Court Jester Restaurant's excellent service and pleasant atmosphere did salvage the experience to some extent. However, I can't help but feel disappointed by the lackluster food quality.
In conclusion, the Court Jester Restaurant offers a lovely setting and attentive service, but the subpar flavor and greasiness of the food left much to be desired. I hope that the restaurant takes these points into consideration and works on improving the culinary aspect of their offerings to match the otherwise enjoyable dining experience...
Read moreWe were going to the first Thursday concert series by the Hall of Records on Main Street in Freehold. My wife and I wanted to have dinner nearby before the show. Unfortunately we weren’t able to get a reservation at a couple of other restaurants so we decided to try Court Jester who couldn’t seat us outside but could inside. If you like draft beer, they had an extensive list on tap including Guinness which is my favorite. My wife ordered a glass of wine that was very good but then things quickly went south. While the service was good and the waitress did a great job both our burgers were served with very stale buns that tasted like they were at least 5 days old. But even the meat in the burger was substandard and the presentation lacking with no lettuce and tomato on the top bun. If you have something as basic as a burger on the menu, you have to do a decent one but don’t serve a bad one. We didn’t send them back because they were both the same so we knew they didn’t have any fresh buns or good ground beef in the kitchen. The sweet potato fries however were excellent. After I got the burger instead of having another Guinness I decided to try their featured signature cocktail which was strawberry lemonade with vodka which sounded great. The drink instead of having fresh lemonade or something close to that had a “Country Time Lemonade” mix taste that was so bad I had to send it back and my wife agreed it tasted terrible. If you are going to have a featured cocktail for the night at least make it a good one with fresh ingredients. Then they did the worst thing to top off the experience, they were going to add a 3% surcharge if you used a credit card. Needless to say this place does not do the basic things right so we won’t be back here for a long time. What a disappointment for a restaurant that has been in downtown Freehold for a...
Read moreNot worth it... I'll start by saying I didn't expect five star food or service from this place however I certainly expected better than what we got. I'll start with the service... Our waiter wasn't rude or horrible but he also had a very bland personality and seemed overwhelmed. I tried to order a beer I thought they had on tap and it wasn't and was looking for a suggestion, he had none. So I asked for a frozen mango margarita and in all honesty that was very good. My husband and I ordered a few things to share so here's our review: Jack Daniels burger: the roll was dry and seemed old and the meat was LOW quality. The sauce was a bit much, it reminded me of a meatloaf made with the Lipton onion soup. That came with waffle fries and I was looking forward to that but they were OVER COOKED(hard) and not seasoned. wings: they were pretty good, I liked the sauce a lot but the wings were small and slightly dry. Guacamole: you could tell that it was made fairly fresh but needed to be seasoned better... Needed lime and salt! The biggest problem I had with the guac was the price... $13 for that and a few chip. The other issues I would say were we sat outside during happy hour but they only honor happy hour inside the restaurant. That is so ridiculous because it's all one establishment and I found that to be a MAJOR turn off.. And we had a problem with bees... Not sure if that could be helped but it was annoying and really ruined our time. I'm sure next time I would choose one of the surrounding restaurants...
