We went on a Sunday for dinner and were sat right away because the place was pretty empty. We got bread, and when I moved my utensils off the bread plate, the plate was dirty. There is no way the person who set the table did not see the filthy plate. We were sitting there for a while, just with bread, and we finally had to ask someone to come take our order after workers kept walking past our table. We ordered a Mama's Salad to begin. The lettuce was warm, the pears tasted like nothing, and there was no hint of fig at all in the dressing. The warmth of the lettuce was very off-putting, and the salad was not finished. The restaurant started filling with more people, and the acoustics are awful. It is hard to have a conversation with anyone at your table because it is so loud. The entrees arrived, and they were disappointing, to say the least. Two people ordered chicken parm, and both thought they were using the blunt end of a knife because the chicken was so tough and impossible to cut. The cheese on top of the chicken was almost burned and was like plastic. The sauce on the chicken and pasta was so heavy and chunky, it overshadowed any other taste on the plate. Another person ordered the gnocchi with pesto. The gnochi came out drowning in a heavy cream bright green pesto that tasted exclusively like basil...nothing else. It was not appealing visually, and just as unappealing to the taste buds. A fourth person ordered a simple plate of penne with tomato sauce. Again, the heavy, chunky, almost "red lead" consistency sauce was everywhere. Fortunately, this person was able to scrape the excessive sauce off the pasta to eat. The mound of sauce that was produced from the scraping was impressive. The waitress never came back to see if we wanted drink refills or if everything was ok. When she thought we were finished, with plates still full from uneaten food, she asked if we wanted boxes. I told her no, that the food was not good at all, and I explained all of the problems. She did remove the entrees from the bill, which was greatly appreciated and why I am giving 2 stars for service instead of 1. I would not come back, nor would I be willing to give the food another chance. It was...
Read moreWent to dinner with wife at 8:15. Giving enough time for their close at 10:00pm We walk in with two tables with guests seated. As soon as we walk into the restaurant one of the female waitress or owner with glasses doesn’t even talk to us. Looks at us and then looks at her watch and walks to the back to talk to a male who seemed liked the owner. He sat us down and took our order nicely. Usually they give bread as soon as you sit down. No bread in sight. Our entrees come and same woman who ignored us delivers the food. Wife asked for bread and she walks away without saying a word. She returns with what looked like bread from the cooler. Cold to the touch. We ignored but I was not happy. Then wife’s tried her dish and her pasta sauce was too tangy and was like tomato paste instead of sauce in her rigatoni. She ate it anyway. Me still pissed at the lady being rude as soon as we walked in and serving us cold bread. I got up and took the bread basket to the counter and asked another girl, do you serve your bread cold? She didn’t answer. She asked would you like me to heat it up? I said yes. Male owner returned with the warm bread. He asked how everything was? I said fine as I knew I was not coming back here ever again. Wife told owner about the sauce. He said he was going to talk to the chef. “What ever that means”. Didn’t offer to remake it or replace the dish. He did apologize about the dish not being to our liking in the end. But in this day and age there is no more customer service. As an owner I would have comped and tried the sauce to win over a customer who might not walk through his or her door ever again. My dish was a bit salty and the coke had too much seltzer. Paying $20 a dish to receive subpar food is not acceptable. I will take my hard earned money somewhere else. I don’t usually write reviews but I was compelled to after this horrible experience. And we left before one of those remaining tables finished. Hope that lady gets a better job and if she is the owner she is going to bring this restaurant to close eventually. Hope the owner reads this and...
Read morePanini Grill is such a lovely addition to Freehold! I found out about them through Instagram and seeing their amazing food pictures had me in awe. Thankfully the food tasted just as great as their mouth watering photos. This was the last place I dined at before restaurants were ordered to shut down for takeout only. The entire place was squeaky clean which sure put our worries at ease. It's best to give the menu a look over before coming because the choices are endless and all sound incredible, from the pasta to pizza and of course paninis. I ended up ordering a panini with chicken cutlets, mozzarella sticks, sun dried tomato, marinara, fresh mozz and pesto. It was ginormous and the different flavors blended perfectly. My tastebuds were overwhelmed with happiness. I really think the pesto and sun dried tomato helped make the flavors stand out. My boyfriend ordered the fettuccine Alfredo panini. This was unlike anything I've ever seen! It was a stuffed wrap full of fettuccine Alfredo coated in breadcrumbs with a helping of Alfredo sauce poured on top. Carb heaven! He was absolutely in love and said it was the best panini he's ever had! They have more authentic paninis here if that is more your thing and I am definitely coming back to try more traditional options from their menu. The business has been doing a lot to help the community during these uncertain times and it is great to see a business give back. I can't wait to return once life returns to normal again. Awesome, friendly staff, very accommodating and understands the needs of their customers very well! I wish...
