Waffle House — Restaurant in Freeport

I’ve recently had an experience that not just bothered me to witness, but is weighing heavy on my heart even at home. I recently ate here and did not have this woman as my waitress but witnessed a very disturbing interaction with a waitress on shift named “Ann”, an old man who you could tell was a regular came inside and greeted everyone with a smile, he then went to sit down and this waitress yelled “i don’t want you in my section, i don’t like you and you can sit somewhere else” at first it felt as if it HAD to be a joking matter, until i quickly realized it was not. The look on this mans face was heart shattering and the other employees working quickly comforted him and warmed his heart with love after being attacked in front of the entire restaurant. It was humiliating to this 80 yr old man. This isn’t the first time this woman has yelled on shift and made co workers and regulars uncomfortable. I no longer go to this location if i see she’s working. Please hire appropriate staff for a job that requires customer service skill sets. Her vibe is off putting and uncomfortable and I can’t believe the number of times I’ve witnessed her disrespecting people around her and has not been fired yet. She’s waited on me as well and acted as if everything was an inconvenience. And just bothered that people are there to eat. I don’t care if you’ve been working at Waffle House your whole life.. I will fib and give you a four-star rating. Out of all the Waffle Houses that I've been to, this one is the farthest below par from a knowledge and execution standpoint. Too many newbies on the grill or serving with one exception. The only reason why I gave you four stars instead of one is Rose. Every time that I've made an order with another server, Rose steps in and helps them expedite the order properly. I almost hate tipping out the person that doesn't know their job instead of Rose but I guess that's just how it goes. So from my standpoint and my 12 visits to this Waffle House, I see one bright star and a bunch of people scrambling for a job. Tonight I place a to-go order and was told the food would be ready in 10 minutes 15 minutes later when I arrive the food hasn't even been called yet and due to covid 19/the time I place order, there were only two tables set in the establishment. We come in here quite frequently and it seems every time we come in there's something wrong. We order the same thing every time.. a cheese steak hash brown bowl with extra cheese. This is supposed to come with grilled onions yet unless we clearly specify it they will leave it out. This morning we called and placed a to go order yet the lady didn't place the order until we walked in the door. On top of that when we made sure they added extra cheese, it appeared that they had to double check or add cheese because they forgot. Simple order shouldn't be that difficult especially when we come here so often and pay nearly $30 each visit. Oh.. and no bags for our to go order so we had to walk out carrying the food with crumbs and food caked all over the bottom of the containers.
