the best place for a lunch date😋 #creatorsearchinsights #genkoreanbbq

It's more than 45minutes as usual to wait for a table for 4. It was nice that we found some chairs outside with a fire pit to keep warm on a chilly Friday evening. We've never seen this place that's so packed as today, all seats were full from the inside to the outside, amazing. When you're hungry, the BBQ smoke doesn't help either, just more inviting. We got our table at the outer room, sat down, the nice server took the order quickly but the food and all the dip sauce and tongs didn't come. We ordered the soups and there were no spoons when delivered, the place is hectic and all the servers are working so hard and fast but still can't accommodate for the customers request. We like the brisket but we can't eat without the dipping sauce tray because it's not marinated, we can't eat the soups without spoons and they're getting cold. I went to the front and asked for these things that are killing our meal at the moment. It's practically a 2 stars as we going to give this place. The reason they don't have the tongs and the dipping sauce because they're out of tongs and the kitchen didn't wash them fast enough but it's normally not the customers fault. Then came this nice and pleasant young man who claimed to be the manager, within a few minutes, we got everything and we're happily enjoying our Friday's BBQ without the cooking. The kids ate so fast and we got 2 tongs for fast cooking, the spoons for the excellent tofu spicy soup, we ordered twice. Brandon only likes bulgogi so he had 3 servings all by himself. Audie likes brisket, kalbi, rice cake, japchae. We like the spicy shrimps and everything the kids like. There are quite a few more choices, but these are mostly what we ordered. The Korean pickles are tasty, specially Kimchi. All of these for $25 person, no wonder the Beque BBQ that we liked for $20/person has closed its door. Brandon said the bulgogi here is the best and we all agreed the food quality here is the best too. For us, having the smiling, hard working and pleasant manager as our personal server LOL was the best... yes, he did change our dreadful 2 stars impression to glowing 5 stars.

The food was good when it did, and what did, arrive. It maybe that the restaurant is still new and working out the glitches, but after a really long wait we got a table. Insufficient staff may have been the root of most of the problems (We waited at the bar, and the bartender was awesome. She felt really sorry for us because we had to wait so long and comped us some drinks.) We were placed in an odd corner even though there were many much nicer tables free, but covered in dirty dishes. Our waiter informed us there was no garlic available for grilling. After we expressed much disbelief, he came back and said he had managed to get some for us! Several dishes - the spicy baby octopus, the cajun shrimp, the rice balls that we ordered, never arrived. No explanation or apology was given. Our grill was charred and smoking but was never changed out. When the waiter was taking forever to return to take our money, we walked over to the front desk and were rudely told that we needed to wait for our waiter. Fortunately the manager happened to be nearby and took us over to the bar to ring us up. The manager was apologetic at the end about our experience and said we should have complained! Well, that's what you get for trying to be considerate while expressing your concerns, I guess. However, the ambiance, menu, and drinks were fun, and I plan to go back and hope to have a better experience.

First off, this has been one of the worst Korean barbecue experience I ever had. I have been to this location twice now. When we arrived at 6:45pm we checked in with the host and she let us know a 25-30 minute wait and we would receive 3 messages on the third one check in again. So as we waited we never received any message, at 7:55 we asked the hostess what place we were in line because we never received any message and she proceeded to ask us what our phone was and found out she typed in our phone number wrong. So when she fixed her mistake we got our first message at 8:00. However there were so many groups entering the restaurant and the hostess would not let us in. We were very confused on why they were allowed in. There were groups after us who came in after us that were inside waiting to be sat. So when we were able to be checked in the THIRD TIME. A Second Lady proceeded to say the system lost our reservation. She then told us to step aside and she’ll “deal with us when she can” in the rudest tone. She then started to blame us that we did not come in on time to check in and said the system of theirs kicked us off the list. We had no knowledge of this. How is that our fault that their system kicked us off? We were outside right in front of the restaurant and they did not call any name or no message to us. As we stepped aside, (Mind you we were a party of FIVE) she then went on and helped the group behind us a party of FIVE! and took them to a table. She then proceeded to say that when a table becomes a available they’ll try to sit us but can’t guarantee because they are trying to find our reservation. I was very furious that we waited almost 2 hours and many people who came in after us sat because their hostess would not let us in. The Second Lady helping was a manager and she was very rude. She was rolling her eyes and even said at one point. “ I don’t know what your issue is, so what do you even want” Another manager the man, came up to us and started to say we were being very disrespectful to their staff, but as we explained what happened, he finally understood their mistake and took care of us. He did not know that they were blaming us for their mistake. So they rushed to find us the nearest table & get us seated it gets worse. We sat at 8:20 and did not received our first round of meat until 8:50. When we finally received it, we placed another one right away. We did not receive it until 9:45. We were very upset that we were treated wrong and that we paid a good hefty amount just to receive two rounds. The table beside us only received one round of meat and decided to leave because none of the meat they ordered were coming. This was such an awful and unorganized place. The management there is very poor. If you decide to come here I would rather just drive up to San Jose or else you will just pay a good amount to...

Meats: 5/5 Service: 1/5 TLDR: slow service, upset waiter, no given explanation

Waited an hour for seating, did not mind.

When we got seated, our server went to start his 30 so we had a substitute server for a bit.

We asked for 4 meats and 2 drinks and after 15 minutes, 2 meats came and 2 watered-down Shirleys. After we ate those, we waited a long time for our server to come by. When she did, we asked for 4 meats and asked to get some sauces. Another 15 minutes pass by and we get 3 plates of meat this time (no explanations). Repeat x1.

This time, about an hour into our AYCE, we ask if the sauces we ordered are being made. Our server (by now, already back to our original server) says, "Oh? You didn't get it yet? Give me a second," and goes to the back. When he comes back, he slams down a stack of 5 sauces and leaves. He comes back 5 minutes later and drops another 5 sauces on our table, curtly, "Your sauces."

From then on, our server started giving us the cold shoulder like we were an estranged lover-became-situationship giving them mixed signals but then suddenly pulling away over and over until he's had enough. We asked for meat and his cold stare and silence struck a stake in our hearts. When he came back 10 minutes later, he slammed 3 plates down and asked with a straight face, "You want sauce with that?" We lightly laughed at his joke but perhaps it was sarcasm because he started to come by at minimum once every 15+ minutes, slamming the meat plates down, not saying a single word or sign of acknowledgement when we ask for another serving of meat (reminder, this is AYCE), just straight up leaving after we talk.

In a 2-hour AYCE session for 5 people, our server came less than 10 times. The server turned off our stove 15 minutes before time was up while the party next to us that arrived before us was still ordering new meats (they were also friends with one of the servers though).

I don't want to be harsh because I can understand that maybe the meat production was slow, maybe they forgot about our table (we were right in front of the door though), maybe/likely he was upset that there was a double order of sauce.

Overall, it was not really a great experience. For how much time we waited and how much we paid, we weren't even able to eat 2 IN-N-OUT burgers worth of calories each...

To you, Mr....

The place's backdrop is pretty cool but the music is too loud that you have to keep screaming to be heard by the person you're talking too. Not suited if you have family members that are elderly, is hard of hearing or babies.

I wish I can give them zero star because of their reservation process. My aunt called them 3 and again 2 weeks ahead of time to reserve and confirm a long table for a party of 20-25. She was told to come in person for the reservation regardless if you live an hour or 2 away. They said reservation can't be done over the phone. We complied however and I went to confirm and finalize it. Filled out paper works and gave them my credit card for the deposit they required. Pointed at the table we wanted reserved and gave them the exact time for guest arrival. (it was for a surprise birthday lunch). I spoke to the receptionist and the manager. They both know which table we were getting and said that that exact table we requested will be all set and ready 5-10 minutes before 12noon as guests may start arriving by that time although the lunch is scheduled for 12:30noon. (We picked a long table with stand-alone chairs so it will be easy for one to get up without asking the rest of the guests to stand up)

We arrived at 12noon and were told to wait since the table wasn't ready yet so we waited, but then we were not given the table we originally asked for. Instead, we were given 4 separate tables with bench seats for a party of 25!!! We can't talk to other guests which were by the ways all family members. When one wants to get out to use the restroom, every body from the same bench has to stand up and get out. On top of that, we were squished. Very inconvenient!

I spoke to the server which was very apologetic about it though, and asked to hopefully speak to the manager. I asked what happened to our reservation and all she said was that the table I asked for was already reserved by other folks who got in before us. That reservation is not guaranteed. And that they are sorry for the inconvenience.

Again, their music is too loud that you will probably lose so much of your energy and voice screaming just to be heard and most of all argue when really there's nothing else more you can do. Very...
