Los Mezcales — Restaurant in Fremont

Honest review. This place would be a 5 if they can figure out the service. We actually let them know we would have a group of 10 in advance. Clearly short staffed, but we joined our party and it was 35+ minutes before we got our first drink. Ok with slower service but it was way too long to wait for a greeting. We figured out to just walk to the bar if we needed any drinks. The food is so good but food came out in phases. Also fine if it’s a little strategic and expected. For instance have kids food come out first. One of the adults was nearly finished with their meal when the last 4 came out and one child waited til very last. Everything was fresh and delicious. Good margs too- $10. Overall great food but need to work on service. Hope they work out the kinks as it could be...

I really wanted to like this place. Came from out of town to try this for my birthday. Service was ok. Our waitress didn’t know answers to any of the questions I asked about the special, menu items ect. On a positive note, the queso was really good. The salsa was good. The traditional house margarita was 8/10 good, although it was not very big and it was $10. The chimichanga was the special, so I decided to try that. It was not good, at all. The refined beans didn’t have any flavor. The guacamole not fresh and the flavor was terrible. My husband will eat ANYTHING and he wouldn’t even eat that. Los Mezcales is definitely a must stop in Fremont. Our bartender/server was great with wonderful customer service, great suggestions, and super friendly. He was the only server in the restaurant on Tuesday, so service was a tad slow. The Tacos Dorados De Chorizo was wonderful with a lovely presentation. Loved the green salsa pairing. It had the right amount of kick and amazing flavor. My husband and son loved their chicken burritos (I stole their guacamole, and it was fantastic), and my Quesabirrias was the BEST I've had.
