Ark Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Fresno

The food was good, however the service needs improvement. We visited at 740PM and the hours say they're open til 8PM. We realize that for workers and places it's somewhat annoying for customers to come up last minute before closing to order food so we asked the front staff if they were still open.

We got nothing but attitude and they were insinuating that only for takeout. A few minutes into the conversation the manager or supervisor got wind of the conversation and said yes of course they were open to dine in as they were open til 8pm.

Although the food was good, the initial interaction left a bad taste in our mouths as we discussed it during the entire meal. Karma got around to those employees too as more people came in to order for dine in, some literally two minutes before closing.

I hope the interaction led to some coaching for the staff that were acting like that, as they need to realize that their job and pay depends on customers.

Well, it pains me to write this because I don't usually ever give someone a one star but, my experience here was unfortunate. When we arrived, there was a group of seven ladies standing at the counter. They were very caught up in their conversation, one was sitting on a stool, one was on the phone and the others were just standing around talking. Not one of them acknowledged us. After the gentleman at the grill motioned to one of the gals that we were there, she told us the cash register was being used by a phone in order and that was the only was she could help us. Apparently writing down an order and entering it later was not possible. I am glad no other restaurants feel this way. My husband told her, call us over when you are ready. All of these ladies just continued to stand around talking. We waited another five minutes, and the gal never acknowledged that they were ready for us to order. We left. Was recommended to go by and I ordered well as is my every order of meat. It was take out and a young waitress helped me. She didn't smile and was actually unfriendly. I restated my desire for well done. She was annoyed I said it twice. Got my order took home and was not just rare but dripping blood. I called to see if I picked up the wrong order and the same waitress answered phone. She was insulting, arrogant and insisted I ordered rare. Anyone who knows me thsts impossible!
