Bombay indian cuisine — Restaurant in Fresno

I left the same review on Yelp. I read previous reviews and it's obvious that some are from competitors. That aside, I didn't see much of anything that was in complaints such as lack of customer service. Maybe they improved since then, I'm not sure. I'm not Indian but I have been eating Indian food with friends since I was a kid so I have a good idea of how it should be. I picked up a to go order tonight before closing. I ordered mild aloo mutter, spicy butter chicken, rice, tikki chat, garlic naan and cheese naan. Everything was fantastic! The chicken was super soft, seasoned to perfection and very moist. The aloo mutter was very good and balanced well with the spice from the chicken. The Tikki chat was so good, the potatoes were not too salty or bland, kept form and were dressed perfectly with the chat, not too sweet or spicy. The garlic naan was great as expected but the cheese naan was amazing! I especially appreciate this because many places americanize the cheese naan with cheddar or other American cheese, which is good but I like the paneer much better. Everything was excellent. Food was ready quickly, but you can tell it wasn't sitting out, fresh taste. The dining area is within a gas station but still super clean and neat. My worst ever Indian food experience.. Never ever will order from this so called Indian restaurant.. I was traveling enroute Fresno to South CA and by mere looking at Bombay Indian Cuisine name I ordered a delivery.. I had ordered Lamb Biryani, Rice Pulav and Gobi Manchurian.. Though I had mentioned less/mild spice the Rice Pulav and Biryani had no salt in it and the chef argued on call stating Salt is part of spice - Lol he is the chef there.. And what do I say about Gobi Manchurian.. These were hard balls of veges which did not resemble Cauliflower. I can't believe that when you braek those hard balls you have dry flour (sukha aata - see photo) falling out and yet again the chef argued on call that I had mentioned medium spice for this dish.. The owner takes my phone number for Zelle refund and then hands over to the chef and the rude Chef disconnects the call post above argument. I call back and now he does not want to refund and says not to waste his time and disconnect the call.. And the guys provided the worst guest experience when someone complains about their food quality.. My order was placed on 7/5/2024 which was delivered at 8.40 pm via Uber Eats...

Phoned in my order, was told 20 mins for pickup. I arrive 30 mins after to allow ample time. I tell cashier I am picking up a phone order. She speaks no English and proceeds to hold up a pen and paper to take my order. I gesture with my hand to my ear that I called my order in already and give her my name. She stares at me with annoyance and points at her paper with her pen for me to tell her what I want to order. After an elderly lady yells "pickup" to the cashier who then asks for my name (even though I already told her). She then tells me it will be another 20 min wait. I already waited 30 mins!! She comes back again and says "no more" (points at item) and insists on me ordering something else entirely different (points at something else). I say no thanks.

Service Suggestions: PLEASE have someone who can speak English because its frustrating when orders are wrong. PLEASE check on your supplies and call me for substitutions BEFORE I show up, 30 mins later. Wastes time, gas, breath, break time.

I was craving Indian food and this is the closest to me. Otherwise, I would go where there is better service...
