New China Cafe — Restaurant in Fresno

Update: I spoke to the owner/manager last night. Absolutely an amazing man. He listened to my complaints and apologized for the situation. This is an amazing place to eat and I would recommend them to anyone looking for great Chinese food at affordable prices. I am so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to get this resolved. I’m glad that I get the chance to visit my favorite restaurant again.

Worst service I have ever gotten from this restaurant. I go two times a week. Well I guess I am done with that. Went in ordered the number 5 combo. Waited for awhile because they were busy. Waitress comes and brings me y food knows as she sat it down that it was wrong. Said they would remake it. Meanwhile my family is eating. After awhile we asked if they would check on my food to which she said yes it’s coming right out. 15 min later we asked a different waiter to please check. He came back and said they are just making it. Wow from coming right out to making it. When I said this is ridiculous his response was it’s not our fault. The chef screwed up. At that point I was done said never mind I don’t want mine anymore. Yo which he replied too bad they are already making it. Once my family was done eating we got to leave and get a box for their left overs. Went to pay for their food and finally the waitress says oh you aren’t waiting for your food? I said what’s the point my family is done. To which we got nothing but attitude from both of them. Yes at this point I was beyond frustrated and pissed. I did go off on both of them for their lack of care and understanding about the situation. To which I was told yet again it wasn’t their fault the order was messed up. This is not how you treat customers. Especially ones that come in several times a week. I would hope a member of management or the owner would reach out. I doubt that...

I been coming to this since 1996.It has always been so bomb food and service.When they closed because of covid and just bs the city was giving them I was sad.When they reopened I was thrilled more then anything I finally got the best Chinese food in Fresno back.But lately the service has been so bad.They hire the most ridiculous kids I have ever seen.Their so incompetent they can never get my order right.I don't know who's doing the hiring but it's really pathetic.I was put on hold for almost 20 minutes and had to call back.When they tried to put me on hold again I told them I was already on hold for 20 minutes he gave me an attitude.I brushed it off like whatever but he told me it was gonna be a 30 minute wait.When I went in for my food I had to wait again.This time for almost 45 min and on top of that my food was cold.If I'ma wait 4 my food that long it should've been at least hot.I never had this problem when Cecilia was working.I miss her working because I never had this problem ever since I went there.They really need to rethink who they hire because every time I go it's a different person but with the same lazy attitude..So very sad this place is...

I have been going to New China since I was 13 years old. I am now 47. The food never disappoints. I was sad the whole time they were closed, I was blessed to have run into Dennis and got her number. When she was ready to open, she let me know, and we were there. I have known Cecilia for so many years, I am happy her sons have taken over so she can enjoy time with her grandbabies. That being said, the food is still THE BEST in town. The flavor can not be matched. The veggies are always fresh, and you can taste the difference. Our go-to's are.. Special fried rice, Beef Chop Suey Chowmein, Sizzling Rice Soup, Egg Flower Soup, Broccoli Beef over Pan Fried Noodles Of course, a good ole' Number 1 is always perfect with a side of sizzling beef. During Lint, #1 with no pork and a side of sizzling shrimp! The best way to enjoy seafood nights. If you have not been there in a while or ever, definitely give it a try..... I know you will not be disappointed! Tell them...
