Piazza Del Pane — Restaurant in Fresno

So disappointed. The one star is because the food was good but how we were treated was unacceptable with the exception of our servers. We went in for Sunday brunch on Mother’s Day expecting a crowd. After calling the day before for reservations, we were told that it was first come first served so we were surprised it wasn’t very busy when we got there. As soon as we walked in we were asked if we had reservations and then left standing there for a few minutes until a manager told us they couldn’t accommodate us. There were 6 of us- 4 adults, a child & a toddler. After asking a few questions, we were told they are “organized “ and had back to back reservations. No problem, we leave. As we’re getting in our car, the manager comes out to tell us someone hadn’t shown up for their reservation and we could be seated. Sounds lovely except 30 minutes or so into our meal we were asked to leave because the next reservation had arrived or they were “on their way”. WHAT?!!! We were not ever told that and more importantly there were empty tables and customers sitting at their tables enjoying each other’s company after finishing their meals and no one else was asked to leave. I was embarrassed to say the least and there’s no way we’re paying full price for a buffet and unlimited mimosas when I hadnt even got my second plate! My son talks to the manager and she says we don’t have to leave but I didn’t feel comfortable anymore. We stayed to finish our plates and observed plenty of empty tables, no lines and rude stares. I want to take this opportunity to edit my review. Initially, I chose to focus solely on my positive experience with our main server, but there were other aspects of the service that I can no longer overlook.

While I enjoyed certain elements of this spot, I couldn’t help but feel that something was off about the service during my visit. One of the female servers came over, dropped the food abruptly on our table, and walked off without a word. It was so abrupt that it stood out, but I chose to let it go at the time because I didn’t want to disrupt my time with my parents.

Later, a male server who assisted our main server also acted disinterested, as if delivering the food was a burden. This was particularly disappointing because our main server was so friendly—it’s clear that good service is possible here.

I decided to edit my review after hearing from my siblings, who visited a week ago and experienced the same lack of attentiveness. This suggests a recurring issue that needs addressing.

For me, a good dining experience goes beyond just the food. The service and atmosphere are just as important, and when they fall short, it inevitably diminishes the overall experience. Unfortunately, at this point, it’s looking very unlikely that I will return.

This spot is a great! The open and airy setting, paired with friendly staff, makes for a welcoming dining experience. The food is delicious, from nicely seasoned pasta to flavorful appetizers and creamy clam chowder. Each dish is presented with care, and the overall vibe is warm and inviting. Okay so I wanted to LOVE this place again before I wrote a review. Let me start by saying that my boyfriend and I order the same exact pasta every single time lol. We get the chicken Pesto penne, his with steak. It’s so flavorful and delicious! Ingredients are fresh so you can enjoy all the flavors. The first time we got takeout everything was perfect, the pasta was amazing and to top it all off the gave is a delicious muffin shaped white bread with their delicious basil garlic butter, can I just say wow! However after this we ordered about 4 more times and I was super disappointed because the pasta wasn’t as fresh and they did not include that delicious bread and butter, they would give us like a piece of baguette or similar. I was about to stop going to them but instead we gave ourselves a break and did not go for about 4 months till today and to my good luck because today’s pasta was AMAZING!!!
