PLEASE READ! I am so sad to have to post this and even told the manager I would have to. He said he did not care. We have eaten herE multiple times since the new opening. One night we went in to eat and I made a reservation for 11 for my dad's bday and mom's mother's day. It was for Saturday the night before mother's day. I received a text confirmation for the dinner. I sent out the invites and everything was set. I called twice during the following week to just confirm with no return call. I ended up going in for dinner the Friday before the party to eat and follow up with our party the next night. The staff stated they were not taking reservations for that night due to " Mexican mother's day". I told them that is fine but I already had a confirmation and that they should honor it. The manager would not come speak to me and told the host he had to "man up" and tell me himself since it was his error. Unfortunately, it was management's fault! Their system confirmed the reservation, their managers never returned my 2 calls that week, and not to mention, the new notice placed on the counter stated no reservations sunday only. I'm not sure when they put the notice up but it was clearly very recent amd stated nothing about saturday. The management said it was the owner saying he would not honor their word. I'm extremely disappointed but could never support a business/ family with such...
Read moreJust, no. We ignored the terrible reviews b/c our usual place was closed- the bad reviews are real, people. Wait time was great, greeter was friendly- that’s where it ends, my friends. There were 4 of us and the wait for the food was a little longer than normal, so the chips and salsa were gone. We asked for more when she asked if we needed anything- she never came. There was one other table in the dining area… Our food comes and she never brought utensils, so we asked and are patiently waiting. She walks over and starts chatting with the other table, leaning against the wall. We are all sitting here waiting for forks, it was so weird. So I finally get up to ask another staff member. She sees me and rushed over to grab utensils. We still haven’t gotten chips and salsa, so I ask again. I see her in the kitchen area talking to coworkers and packing a to-go order. I finally get up again to ask another staff member. Like, what? So odd. The albondigas was terrible, more like cabbage soup with mushy meatballs. The tortillas were hard and paper thin, store bought. The kids wouldn’t even eat them. The taco was legitimately inedible. I asked my friend if it was just me and she said it tasted like cat food. The salad was literally bagged salad with boiled chicken. Please do yourselves a favor and...
Read moreWe have been loyal Toledo’s customers for many years and would frequent the old location on Blackstone. We were very excited to see that this location was finally open as it is a convenient location. The host at the front was very friendly and told us it would be a small wait time, which was fine. Once we were seated, we enjoyed looking at the interior decorations and interesting lighting choices. Our waiter came to our table quickly to get our drink orders. We had to repeat our food order a few times but he eventually got it down. The chips and salsa were delicious. Our meals were good, but unfortunately the temperature was not very hot to begin with, which led to cold food at the end. Our biggest complaint would be when it was time to pay our bill. The waiter brought his tablet to the table (did not leave) and had me tap my card. He then proceeded to stand there next to me as I reviewed the bill, decided on tip, etc. This made for a very awkward feeling for us. I’d prefer they leave a traditional paper bill at our table or leave a tablet we can use to pay the bill with some privacy. Will we try it again? Probably. But I think they need more time to figure out what they are doing to make sure the experience is like the old location....
