Taco Bell — Restaurant in Fresno

I don't normally review fast food restaurants because the service changes daily based on who is working at the time, but i am so fed up with this specific location. I have to drive halfway across town to get to a decent one, but at least all the others are usually willing to handle issues reasonably. This location, not so much.

Yes, it's my own fault for holding out hope for almost 3 years now that something would finally improve, but I really try to be optimistic.

I would wager 2 out of every 3 orders i place here come out wrong or incomplete. Management always comes up with some excuse as to why, and i do understand that things happen, mistakes get made, we're all human, but I have had more issues with this particular Taco Bell than all other fast food restaurants I've been to in the past 3 years (when i moved here) combined. The food is always skimpy and they say its the way corporate tells them to make it, but no other taco bell i go to makes the food that small, none of them! If theres a shortage of some ingredient, im not usually warned ahead of time, so (repeatedly) I have ordered something, pay full price, get home to feed my family and realize "Holy dollhouse props, Batman! This burrito/chalupa/crunchwrap/etc is practically empty!"

Management and staff never seem to care when i call to ask about it (or drive all the way back because nobody wouldanswer the phone) and they often just say "I'll refund the item" then hand me cash and walk off. Nevermind that i just wasted time and gas to come back here to take care of the problem myself.

Any other taco bell? "Oh im sorry about that. We can remake the item for you or refund you, which would you prefer?" And then a bag of cinnamon twists. Im not joking, they always give me cinnamon twists if theres ANY issue. I honestly don't eat them but once or twice a year if im in the mood (so usually I give them to my partner), but the gesture itself is meaningful and I honestly appreciate it, even though it maybe costs them 50 cents. I just appreciate that they care, ya know? Or they're trying to make up for the problem. This location, however, rarely even apologises (the staff sometimes do, but management gives zero f*s)

Honestly if they would just be more upfront and transparent with the customers (and maybe actually put human-sized portions in the food), things...

Oh boy this place went downhill really fast.

It seems like as soon as the GM from three years ago left, like it just kinda dispersed all the good, hardworking people there, and now it seems nobody that works there either really doesn't know how to do their job, or just doesn't care, and that's not fair.

I used to drive the 11 miles across town almost every day to get over to this Taco Bell, and honestly, now they're so terrible I don't even want to go at all again because it's just not worth it.

I ordered some tacos to be steak, and they come as beef. I was charged an extra $9.25 for steak, on top of the combo price for the crunchy taco combo of 3 crunchy taco supremes and a large soda. Woof.

Okay so besides taking a hefty dip into my account for some tacos that were beef and not steak, when I call up the restaurant and ask them what can be done, they seem(at first) pretty chill about the situation. The GM promises me a gift card, and she says I don't even have to leave the comfort of my home. She gives me an email address to send my address so so she doesn't get it incorrect, and just to make sure it sends, I call her back. She never confirms, because it's not her I get on the phone when I call back, and whoever left the note I asked them to leave for her; I never received another phone call.

Didn't receive a receipt, a taco, 2 small drinks because no lids for the large cups so they were supposed to give us 2 mediums and 2 smalls to make it larges, no hot sauce, no napkins, no straws, but a free freeze because they made it on accident. They re read our order to us 5 minutes before but still couldn't deliver on it, but on top of that couldn't even give us basic receipt, napkins, straws? The taco meat tasted diffrent and gross then everyone else's. My burrito was even filled. It was flat with one bite of meat that wouldn't even fill a spoon. It was basically just a tortilla. Yesterday we got the nachos party pack and asked for sour cream on the side. Not even half the container had sour cream in it. 8 jalapeños for our entire party pack, meat on one side, beans on the other side, and a dollop of guac. Used to be my taco bell but they have gone downhill. Sounds dramatic, but we been going to this one since 2003.Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Any other taco bell is vastly superior.

Edit: Was reached out to by the owner of this taco bell and given a full refund as well as some coupons. I was not expecting that and was impressed by how they rectified the situation. Tried them again a a few weeks after and the food was back at the excellent standards. Will eat here again and happy that they listen to...
