The good: taco Tuesday $0.99, their main salsa is tasty and has a nice kick to it. They have deals almost daily. Food isn't the issue they execute it pretty well, the horchata is on the sweeter side but still pretty good.
The bad: service, depending on cashier you might be charged more on days that are supposed to be discounted. I go in on a Thursday, for the discounted Tortas, and thinking if I get a meal it'll come with chips or rice or something, but I come to find out it's just a drink and sandwich, which is fine, but to be charged 13.99 on a day that's supposed to have discounted tortas is wild. Why would anyone come in on a day where a certain food is discounted and proceed to order full price, you guys are a brand new restaurant so I apologize if I was unaware of what the meal comes with when the meals listed on the menu are already vague with what meal come with what side, if any at all. 8 dollar torta with a 1 dollar asada upcharge and to get a drink on the side for a total of 12, got 2 meals of the same thing. So what should have been around 24, 25 dollars ended up being 33, almost 34 dollars. The whole interaction felt dishonest.
First photo was first visit when they opened, 2nd photo has date listed 11/21/24

Read moreService was great. The staff was friendly informative and helpful. Ive had the Cali burrito with carnitas, regular burrito with carnitas and tacos (forgot the meat, remember one was chicken) I'm a sucker for fries in my burritos so the Cali burrito was definitely a 9/10. Yes the Cali burrito isn't Mexican food but every other Mexican restaurants is doing it so it probably should be considered a Mexican dish by now?? The regular burrito was ok, 6/7. It was flavor but way too much rice to my liking (it's way I'm a sucker for California burrito) the tacos were solid 7/10, besides the chicken, I doing the chicken to be a bit dry. The miche drinks are good. The lobby is nice and clean. I just wished they had free self-serve water, but it is understandable that they don't...
Read moreAs a native from Bakersfield I always loved la villa, especially late at night when you’re craving for some good Mexican food. Unfortunately the local option here is not that great so I’m happy to have a la villa here. I’ve been religiously going to eat here and also doing runs for all my co workers who are now obsessing over this place. The wet burritos are great, a California burrito with shrimp and asada is amazing, and la villa fries are so loaded you will never look at anyone else’s fries. The staff is great too. Always ready to answer questions and so chill. I hope they open up more here in Fresno so more people...
