This thing of ours.
Good food. Authentic gelato and cannoli. They have really good spaghetti , lasagna, and other dishes . The only thing they’re missing probably would be some expresso ( and maybe a couple of feds eyeballin in the parking lot LOL )
Not withstanding RICO lol …
If you and your crew are looking for a good place to have a sit down, you could do worse.
Inside the restaurant, the decor is a little bit heavy handed, I don’t see any pictures of Dean Martin I don’t hear any music from Louis Prima. They seem to have this caricature of Italian peoples and they play a lot of music from the Godfather so I guess it’s OK to have a lot of Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorsese kind of vibe, but not all Italians and their associates are like that. Because , yea that organization doesn’t exist for one thing…
I have found very few places here in Texas that have authentic Italian.
It’s a small restaurant, but I’ll tell you this even though they have kind of the caricature thing going on. It’s a good place so I’d say get your family in your crew wagon and head that way and get a nice dinner , discuss business …cause yeah they’re good in spite of their lack of espresso, Louis Prima and Dino music . I could tell they have good olive oil and garlic in their food - unlike that other rotten place down the road that thinks they’re Italian- you know the one over there on El Dorado - that Roma’s cuz 10 year old ragu fished out of the east river would be better than the plate of nasty they handed me .
I’m from Florida, which is basically an extension of New York for the most part , so I know good Italian and out here in Texas they don’t even have a good calzone.
Everything‘s fresh , everything‘s good. The cannolis are crisp and tasty, place is clean and tight . Don’t get me wrong. I don’t expect them to have muscles and fish and Vino and stuff , for a small outfit. You gotta expect that.
If you miss out of Mici and go to the O.G. Or that weird place on Eldorado your are a funzanoon …
Good eats...
Read moreMy family and I just got back from the Mici Italian place in Frisco, Texas on 423. We visited this restaurant at 7:30 PM on a Labor Day and I wanna start off by saying that the atmosphere of the employees and the manager is very disappointing. They all look like they wanted to just prepare the food as fast as they can so that they can start with their closing routine.... I even gave my feedback to the guy at the register and you would think that he would have gone and got the manager too to at least hear what we had to say.
My wife and I we ordered the caprese salad and the Margarita pizza the Caprese salad look like it had half the tomatoes it was half full. Margarita pizza was basically the pizza dough and tomato sauce. My kids ordered the pasta and it looked like the pasta was pretty dried out with 2 pieces of bread on top of it.
We were finally excited to have a decent place in Frisco to go eat some what they call it authentic Italian food and it is far from that.
My family and I will not visit this place again and we will spread the word among family and friends not to go to this place and waste your money. Thank you..... I thought you should know the experience...
Read moreMe and my mom came in for lunch today. We got the creamy pesto and Alfredo with chicken. We both got sick afterwards from the food and overall not a good experience. The portions are too small for the amount the charge for (or at least I would hope higher quality food with the pricing). The chicken was undercooked and soggy. If you are getting pasta from there don’t get meat in it because it will be undercooked. The staff also definitely needs more training as the gelato we got was not properly put in the cup. If I’m getting 2 flavors in a medium cup I would expect that it would be half one flavor on the right and half one flavor to the left. Instead they put one flavor on the bottom and one on top which made it difficult to enjoy both flavors and had to ask for an extra cup to empty out one flavor. The salted caramel flavor also tasted more like coffee flavor with chocolate than a true salted caramel. Will probably...
