I decided to try Paris Nail Bar Frisco based on reviews for my nail care needs. I visited twice for a basic dipping powder of my naturally long, healthy fingernails and a pedicure regular polish.
My first time I was charged $10 extra for a basic dipping powder due to my fingernails being long, healthy & strong as a Vegan. I paid $50 for Nexgen my first visit. Hoping they had forgotten it was my natural nails, given how rare it is for women to have healthy long nails that don’t break at a certain length & having enjoyed the ambiance & dipping powder color choices— I decided to book my 2nd appointment and ask about the up charge upon my return.
I came in early to choose my colors & asked Peter about the $10 up charge (not communicated until check out for my first appointment). Perhaps they had forgotten these were my natural nails & not fake nails that women do pay extra for such as the gel x extensions, acrylic nails, add on tips, etc.
Peter smiled and told me I was charged $10 extra for my natural nails being long due to “extra time and materials.”
I smiled back & replied “I’ve never been charged extra for having healthy nails.” Recognizing the BS + value of my own time as a Finance Manager: I proceeded with my appointment
Someone smiling & being polite does not mean fairness or honesty.
Nor does it override the Principle. A woman with naturally strong & healthy nails to be charged as if they are fake is illogical.
What is the centimeter difference a woman’s natural nails should be to avoid being charged an extra $1 per finger??
It takes THE SAME amount of time to dip my NATURAL fingernails into the dipping powder; As it would if they were whatever centimeter difference a woman’s fingernails nails “should be” to avoid an extra $1 per finger charge. No additional materials required. Compared to nail designs, adding on tips, gel-x extensions or acrylic nails
Below are my fingernails & natural length shape straight after soaking off my old Nexgen, as well as the only tool used & finished outcome. As you see- just a buffer to prime for the dipping powder & nail file for square edges. Also shown below. Very quick.
At check out Peter boasted how well Hugo shaped my nails & is the like the best in the shop! I chuckled in my head at the lack of natural awareness to each woman’s individual health & lifestyle & how that influences their nailbed shape, nail strength & NATURAL nail length.
“More time and material” for a woman with naturally strong & “long” fingernails is wrong!
I did not enjoy the passive discrimination, assumptions made, & lack of customer service shown. [E.g oh she’s “complaining” because she can’t afford the extra $10 with no knowledge of my lifestyle, salary or personality.] Again— someone’s politeness doesn’t mean honesty & fairness.
Resolved this is not the new nail home for me: I smiled, tipped & dipped! I only go where me, my money & time is valued...
Read moreHighly unsatisfactory service. I took my daughter to get our nails done. My daughter’s service was great. I was getting a builder gel service. Jenny was my technician and I would highly advise against having her do your nails. She began the service with filing off my previous builder gel. She removed the top coat and color and some around the cuticle. However, I had extensive lifting which I had to keep pointing out all the places where it needed to be removed. She got annoyed. She removed a little more then attempted to proceed to apply a base coat without removing all of the lifting and sanitizing my nails with acetone. I insisted she remove all product which she begrudgingly did. When I challenged her about putting base on top of unsanitized and dusty nails, she got attitude and said my nails would be cleaned later in the service. I told her she has an obligation to ensure the product is all off and sanitized or fungus and bacteria can grow and cause major issues. I am highly aware of the specific steps for applying products, given I worked for a popular gel polish company and was trained in applying product. After fighting with her, which I seriously almost stopped further service, she then started applying the product. I get heat spikes really bad and she was using a flash cure. It had a low option but she repeatedly kept using the high option, causing ongoing heat spikes. Again, proper training teaches nail techs to avoid or minimize heat spikes as this can damage the nail plate. She didn’t cap the edges so I already have some areas where the edge of my nail is pulling away from the product. I did cat eye which required a coat of black underneath. She did not ensure the cat eye covers the edges of the black so I have black uneven edges. This was the most unbelievably awful experience. I paid over $225 for both of our services and had to fight to make sure mine was done properly, which it wasn’t. Please be aware of proper sanitizing procedures if you go here, otherwise, there is a damn good chance you will get greenies! And their prices...
Read moreUnpleasant Experience at Paris Nail Salon!
My friend's recent experience at Paris Nail Salon was far from satisfactory. A young, seemingly inexperienced technician named Z mishandled a pedicure, causing a cut on her toe. Instead of proper treatment, he used liquid glue, raising health concerns. This incident, along with the senior staff's surprised reactions, casts doubt on the salon's training protocols. In its current state, I can't recommend Paris Nail Salon and implore management to reassess their standards and practices.
While we understand that mistakes can happen, it's how those mistakes are addressed that truly reflects the quality of a business. In this case, not only was the initial problem handled inadequately, but it also exposed a potentially larger issue regarding employee training and safety protocols. My friend, understandably, left the salon feeling more distressed than pampered, which is simply not what one expects from a professional salon visit. I share this in hopes that Paris Nail Salon takes necessary steps to rectify these issues, ensuring a safer, more professional environment for all future patrons. Until then, I advise potential customers to exercise caution when considering...
