Bag of Cakes is my favorite bakery (& one of my favorite places in general) ever! I visited Paris & Italy recently, & I missed Bag of Cakes' pastries - they're way better!
My favorites are the new pistachio croissant (tastes like pistachio ice cream!), chocolate almond croissant, almond croissant ... I love that they're not too sweet, lots of nutty topping & filling, & only real quality ingredients - nothing artificial. You can taste the quality- no other bakery I've been to compares!
I get 2 of the croissants for myself literally everyday, & am constantly buying a bunch of pastries for family & friends just because everything is SO delicious, & it makes me happy to share them with people I love. It's very aptly named Bag of Cakes, because it's hard to walk out without a bag full! The pastries are the most perfectly crafted, flaky pastries I have ever tasted! I see a lot of people getting everything, honestly you can't go wrong. I've ordered several of their cakes, cruffins, sausage bread, bacon cheddar scones, dacquoise, & they've all been hits!
Also, I am a matcha lover & have tried all the matchas around, & their iced matcha latte is the BEST by far! Excellent quality matcha from Japan, & they just make it perfectly every time. I love mine with almond milk & less sweet, & can't get enough of it. I also love the Einspanner (iced Americano with the perfect crean top, lightly sweetened). They use good quality coffee.
All the staff & customer service is wonderful, everyone is so kind, friendly, & diligent! They make my day everyday! I'm amazed at how they keep the bakery so clean when the pastries are so flaky. There are many reasons why Bag of Cakes has a ton of regulars. I could not recommend it more highly!
P.S. Several gluten free options for those who...
Read moreThe service provided by this bakery has deteriorated significantly. The establishment has ceased to prioritize customer satisfaction and has become solely focused on profit. I have consistently ordered an egg salad bread and a salted bread. Previously, they would provide a small box to ensure that my egg salad remained neat and clean. However, this time, a young Asian employee insisted on using a small paper bag unless I purchased four pastries, in which case they would provide a box. I questioned him about the potential for the egg salad bread to become smudged and messy, as I was purchasing this for a friend. He assured me that this was acceptable. I am deeply disappointed, as I am an individual with a disability. I must contend with the challenge of walking while simultaneously holding the bag containing the egg salad bread, which requires careful handling. Despite my efforts to maintain its cleanliness, the bread still became smudged and messy. I am extremely disappointed that the bakeryâs growth has coincided with a decline in service quality, even after I explicitly requested that my egg salad not be smudged. As evidenced by the photograph, regardless of my meticulous efforts, the egg salad bread still became smudged. I was aware that this outcome was likely to occur, and he refused to assist me. Consequently, I am unable to present the bread to my friend, as it now appears unappealing. I will not return to this bakeryin the future, as they have demonstrated a lack of regard for customer service. Their behavior has become arrogant, prioritizing profit over customer...
Read moreOkay so my experience was ridiculous. Service was astoundingly terrible for a late Thursday morning. There was a couple in front of me who had nonstop questions and kept pointing at every single pastry and there was only one worker seemingly in charge of helping the customers with their picks. The other workers like the cashier, barista and other employees just standing around, and seem to have a little to no care for the massive line that was forming behind me.
In fact, a lot of the workers seem like they did not want to be there, and they did not even have the decency to acknowledge the people who were waiting more than 10 minutes in line just to order some simple pastries. We just got a bunch of blank stares and itâs almost like they didnât want us to be there???
I actually ended up walking out because of how abysmal the service was from the start. Like another reviewer mentioned below, if this type of customer service bothers you, donât even bother with Bag of Cakes. It was only until when there was nearly a dozen people now waiting in line that someone decided to jump in and help.
Unfortunately, I canât give this place a chance and neither should you â no matter what the TikToks or influencers promise you how good these $6 croissants and $6 cold brews are. Also, the atmosphere itself seemed like your typical white walls industrial new build vibe that is starting to pop up with these modern pastry shops. It was so bland and boring and I donât understand the hype...
