To preface my remarks, I am comparing Marcos Pizza to all of the other fast food pizza restaurants (Little Caesars, Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, etc) as that is - I would imagine - the main competitors in this genre.
We had never tried Marcos Pizzas previously, and because so many of them are beginning to pop up all over the place, we felt that we had to finally give them a try. I received a Marcos Pizza coupon in the mail and that served as the impetus to place an order from the Fuquay-Varina location (where we reside).
Bottom line is that with our particular order (2 pizzas), we were impressed with the quality of the order, the size and thickness of the pizzas, the appearance, and the toppings. I ordered a large (extra thick) pizza with steak and several other veggie toppins, along with a medium sized one with pepperoni and sauage. As an aside, I actually received the medium sized one for free due with a coupon code.
Once I brought the pizza's home we had to put the pizza's in an oven for another 15 minutes to cook them thoroughly. It seems that the conveyor type of ovens they use aren't calibrated/set to bake the pizzas long enough and the ones we received, although beautiful in appearance, needed more cooking because the centers (and toppings) still felt a bit raw or uncooked. But the end result, once we baked the pizza a bit longer, was that all were very tasty.
Look, I know that comments about food tend to be subjective and one person's feast, may not necessarily be so for the next person.
Interior-wise, the Marcos in Fuquay also offers eat-in dining and they have 4-5 large tables there for folks to just order and eat there - which is very convenient. And the tables are not scrunched together at all - so the eat-in area is quite roomy. This beats most (if not all) of the fast pizza chains mentioned above, where the only option one has is to order and pickup.
Sorry if anyone may have been less than impressed. This is a new location, and is the case with any new restaurant, it may take a bit of time and feedback to get things the way they are supposed to be. But again - our experience was a very positive one.
I do have to give a positive shout-out to Jay, the manager. He wanted to make sure everything was just right with our order and his attention to detail really showed - which we very much appreciated.

Read moreOrdered a pizza through grubhub. Order in around 4pm. Said it would be done by 5pm. Showed up at 5pm, doors are locked but all lights on inside with completed food sitting on the counter. I could hear the phones ringing constantly and people were in the parking lot who I talked to and said they had orders waiting too.
We figured something happened, so my family went and ate next door. After we finished, our order was still open so we came back around to see if anything changed. This was about 6pm, 2 hours after we put the order in.
The door was unlocked at this point and there were employees inside scrambling to manage complete chaos. The phones were ringing off the hook, people were waiting in the lobby, and the guys were clearly rushing to get things done.
I asked what had happened and was told the shift change guy was supposed to be there at 4 but had his car breakdown. Instead of dealing with this issue and covering the gap, his manager just locked up and walked out, leaving the place unattended while orders kept coming in. So when the guy finally got a ride to work, it was an hour behind in orders with people waiting in the parking lot.
The guys that were there at this point were very kind and apologetic. They offered to rush our order. We ended up just canceling to save them the hassle as they were taking tons of calls and people were waiting for them to catch-up on an hour of backlogged orders.
Manager David should probably not be a manager anymore if he can't handle a 60 minute...
Read moreWe’ve eaten at Marco’s (various locations) for many years. Since the location in FV opened, we’ve been ordering from that location. We’d hoped the FV location would get better over time, but it hasn’t.
I’m not sure what’s happened, but the quality has been consistently going down at all Marco’s (pretty much since Covid). Some of the pizzas from the FV location have been so wet, the crust has turned to mush. Tonight I was forced to eat it with a knife and fork. I ate 2 1/2 slices. That was all I could eat. The rest went into the trash. The bottom of the box (and by default, the box underneath it) was soaked when it was delivered. We had to put aluminum foil under the boxes to keep our countertops from getting wet/ greasy. Lately, the flavor has been meh at best as well.
The last time we ordered from this location, I got a large ham and onion pizza. It had 4 (FOUR) little slices of ham on it. It looked like someone took a round slice of Canadian Bacon and cut it into quarters. It was just sad that that’s how they sent it out to a customer.
We’ve given you more opportunities than we probably should have. Sorry Marco’s, we’re going to start looking around for a better (and more importantly… more consistent) go-to...
