Cook Out — Restaurant in Gaffney

Then I looked around and noticed it was crumbs all over the floor and not just at my table but it all of the tables and Boots Can't give lower than 1 star. The Cook Out in Gaffney, SC was filthy & there was a long blonde hair in my food. I went to the Cook Out at 10:48am today so they had only been open for almost 20 minutes and the place was nasty. My friend had went straight to the counter to order our food so I went to get the condiments & napkins & to get a table. First off every knife & fork I touched was sticky ( they are individually wrapped). Then I went to a table which was sticky and crumbs covered most of the table. Then I looked around and noticed that there was crumbs all over the floor and not just my table but at all of the tables and booths in the restaurant. I went and wet some napkins and wash the table and when my friend got back with the food told her that the table was nasty so she went to the manager because I said I didn't want to have to wash the table and my chair by the way and still pay for my own food. If I wanted to do that I would cook and clean at home. The manager was the one cooking the food so she never came and talked to us at all also we did ask the girl who came out with a rag and a bottle of spray to wash the table she blow hard and rolled her eyes but she washed it. I was ready get to get my money back and just leave but my friend said go ahead and stay we're already here so I open my food and there was a long blonde hair in it. Now I'm do not have long blonde hair I have just a little longer than a buzz cut and so does my friend so it definitely was not our hair. Took the plate back to the front told the manager about it she turned around and blame someone else and the other person yelled at the manager it's not mine and we said forget it we're leaving so they fix another plate and the manager said I'm sorry and that was it we just grab the plate checked it out to make sure there was no hair in it this time and just left. By then we were so fed up so hungry and tired that we both just said forget it that they're definitely getting a bad review and I'm done with them because now I just want to go home. We have never had a problem at a cookout and people in Gaffney know how nasty KFC is here and cookout was as bad as KFC today. They were filthy and I am definitely calling the home office. I have always raved about cookout I take my grandkids there for milkshakes and everything during the summer but they were so disappointing today. I have worked for several years in the restaurant industry so I know that the night shift did not do their cleaning before they left but the morning shift did not do any of it when they came in and then the manager and everyone else there was hateful and rude and blamed me for it they acted like it was my fault that I shouldn't have come in there cuz they wasn't ready well you shouldn't put the open sign up if you're not ready to...

Went through the drive-through and had a very simple order. 2 hot dogs the same way, a burger and a burger tray. The guy read it back to me. Got to the window, and he tried charging us like $40, so we were confused because this is our normal order, and it's never that much. I asked him to read it back, and he said he accidentally put 2 extra fries? Then it came down to $30. That's still too much. I was tired of holding up the line, so I paid. He brought us our food and said to wait on the rest. The hotdogs were wrong. I sent them back while waiting. He pretended to have them fixed and handed us back the same dogs, which we should have checked again but didn't. Then he brought us six corn dogs.. which explained why we were paying more. I told him I didn't order those. He wouldn't back down and argued with me that I did and called another girl over who told me, "You did order corn dogs. I know him. He's not that type of person." WHAT? LOL. I never said anything about him personally, but that's the person left in charge?? She tried to argue with me, but thankfully, I had witnesses right there with me that told her how wrong she was. I sat and held up that drive thru until I got my refund for the corn dogs I refused to take, and she acted like it was the hardest thing she ever had to do. This place seriously needs new management and people competent enough to work there.

Thank you for the response. We won't be back to this location and we aren't looking for freebies from this complaint, check those cameras though. I will definitely call and it's only because I know a cook who's worked in that kitchen and it's really sick you allow people to eat the fries or hush puppies you give to people...

Don't waste your time. I used to love this place, Used to be pretty quick, Used to be good. Just left after 20 plus minutes waiting inside with obit 1 person eating in the dining area, so not busy at all. And only a handful of cars in the drive thru. 2 minutes in we had someone tell us it would be just a minute. 20 minutes later watching people walk back and forth not doing anything besides avoiding eye contact started to get me upset. Then a lady appears from the back( to help ) no to just say " hey there's a line forming in the dining room" , for someone to tell her that someone not doing anything to tell her that we were told they sunshine would be right with us. Over 20 minutes prior!!! At this point there's 12 to 15 people inside. Everyone in line decided to leave. I get that places are struggling with help, but if you are found to have the dining room open, take orders or close the inside. They kept taking orders from the drive thru the entire time but not one order inside. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL AND UNEXPECTABLE!!!

If you feel like Cook Out, go to Hillcrest in Spartanburg. They will take care of you. I doubt I will ever be back at this restaurant again unless something changes big time. Which sucks because I used to eat here pretty often. . Should be a zero Star. Management head to do something or it will be shut down. Or just be a drive thru soon. This isn't a one time problem.
