My wife and I were feeling a bit peckish and had a little time to spare before we had to pick up the kids from school. With no biddies we figured we get some chicken that wasn't nugget shaped because it's nice to eat like adults every now and again. We decided to check out Wings Etc on the Blvd in gaffney. Maybe we were just eggcited to go out just of the two of us but it was great. Just walking in was great especially when going inside feels like stepping out of an incubator. The server was friendly and helpful when taking our orders. They made sure we were good the entire time but also wasn't on top of us like a hawk. Everything was on point, and the vibe was spot-on for a chill lunch just chirping away with my wife before we gotta pick up our little egg heads from school.
I really hate to be broody about it but this is a review though and I'm an honest man. So as I was combing through the menu peeping out the sauces like any honest man would until I seen something printed to the side of sauces that at first, I figured had to be a product of my scrambled brain after frying under that giant heat lamp of a sun we got. I looked again and I wasn't seeing things. They were actually charging for extra celery. Can you believe that? They must be cuckoo if they think I'm gonna pay to get more for something that grows out of the dirt, that's 98% water, 2% green and requires no cooking whatsoever. What's the money actually buying here, its color maybe a few choppy chops. Then to top it all off when I got my plate the "complimentary" celery was as flat as a bored. Without the iconic celery U shape that's always been celery's claim to fame, there's no way to scoop up any of nature's favorite speckled condiment. What was I supposed to do with flat celery, dip it and hope the ranch juice sticks to it. If you must use em save the flat ones for the bloody Mary's. Sorry for ranting, I'm just very passionate about affordable celery shapes just like my father and his father before him.
Overall, Wings Etc was great. Service was prompt and friendly, everything was clean, and the food was good. It's a resteraunt that's definitely worth crossing the road for and if Wing's Etc would stop being stingy with the crunchy water sticks so I don't have to ration out how many bites of celery to how many wings I eat I'd say it's about worth getting to the other side for too. Thanks for a great meal and we'll...
Read moreI never went here before but it looks like their food is good, I came in to get a to go menu, place is neat and looks like a great hangout spot. A lady asked the guy at the counter how long would it take to get her wings done, and that she was there for a long time. If you're going here for to-go, I suggest that you order your food first and wait at least 10 or 20 mins before going to get it (depending on how far you live from the boulevard) . Edit Stars: ⭐⭐⭐ My grandmother and I tried their food for the first time, we both got honey mustard and the Caribbean bbq rub wings, and seasoned fries. I got some kind of chocolate mint pie with a raspberry syrup on top. We called the order in, The wings are good, especially the honey mustard, the caribbean tasted like rubbed sage on them, the blue cheese is amazing! and the celery and ranch was good. We didn't get our fries, and they weren't on our receipt! We told them about it and we wind up paying for something we ordered that we didn't get, a mistake they made. And the dessert, don't make me get started on that. It was okay, but DEFINITELY not what I expected, the raspberry stuff was a bit bitter and salty- but I like that kind of taste with sweets so I was okay with that. But the slice wasn't even a slice! It was soooo small when I took a bit out of it, that was half of the 'slice' already, it was the size of the corner of the small box it was in. I thought it was the shape of a tart or some round-shaped fancy dessert-that's how small it was. My grandmother was concerned that I wasn't happy about the dessert, let alone I didn't get my fries. After I got my fries they were...
Read moreUnpleasant Experience at Wings Etc. in Gaffney
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)
My recent visit to Wings Etc. in Gaffney left me with an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment to anyone after my visit.
The main issue I encountered was a severe case of food poisoning, which I strongly suspect was a result of the meal I had at Wings Etc. The diarrhea and gastrointestinal distress that followed my visit were not only unpleasant but also alarming. Food poisoning is a serious health concern, and I would advise extreme caution to anyone considering dining at this establishment.
In addition to the food safety concerns, I was thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the cheese and pretzel bites. These are dishes that, when executed well, can be a delightful snack or appetizer. Unfortunately, at Wings Etc., they fell short of even basic expectations. The cheese and pretzel bites were lacking in flavor, and the texture was subpar. They tasted like they had been sitting around for a while, which is far from what one would expect when ordering such a menu item.
Overall, my experience at Wings Etc. in Gaffney was nothing short of a disaster. From the food quality to the severe gastrointestinal issues that followed, it was a deeply regrettable visit. I urge potential diners to exercise caution when considering this establishment, as your dining experience may leave you with more than just an...
